Congrats Finzup - such a cool story!!! Speaking of kisslock bags, Jackie used to make a clutch that was adorable - some popped up in the last sample sale and I didn't get one in time, but Jackie had said she could get a similar frame -- I was looking at python at the time and it was expensive and I just never did have her make it. It was really soft with gathers in a frame with the kisslock closure -- would look fab in a white of cream pearlized leather for sure!

I see a white envelope clutch with a short, full voluptuous tassel bursting forth somewhere.

Or, a plain simple white little pouch bag made in the most exquisite leather, perhaps accented with a crystal or two.

(I am determined to one day get my hands on a BE pouch bag, should it ever be made!)

I think that would be best left to someone else! I still remember having to put a zip in a skirt 9 times for what was then a Domestic Science class (and it would have been have been 10 had my mother not taken pity on me and done it herself for me!) so it's not quite my forte!! I know what I like though...

Here you go Katie and the rest of you ladies asking about a kisslock. Jackie says that the issue with these bags are the frames which are prone to breaking, are expensive and hard to source. But if there is a desire to get it made, she will ask!

How much stuff will fit into this sweet little bag? I love the closure.

I've been on a reading bender having consumed 2 Steve Berrys in two days. I really liked The Amber Room. I might have to get some more of his, they're very 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' though, but I quite like a rip-roaring yarn based on history!

One thing I have noticed with a lot of recent books in this vein (or ones that have even more of a fantasy element) is that I find they're very cinematic to read. I'm sure many of them would make fantastic films, but I'm just wondering whether some of them are written with 'Film' in mind??Still like reading them though!

I agree CB - Whenever I read any of Steve Berry's works I always feel like it was written as screenplay material. His stories are very entertaining and - when reading them its hard to put the book down!

Happy 4th of July Yanks!

We throw a big July 4th bash every year so you probably won't see me much today. I'll be busy doing this

If you do hear from me after 6:00 then you can expect this.

CB, that is construction. referring to your home economics post. You are a designer, an artiste!! You have vision, and another talented person can do the zippers.

He certainly has a gripping style and once I've started I have to finish! Glad you think so too about the screenplay aspect to it - I've studied a lot of film in my time, documentary, narrative and a rather peculiar period of non-narrative (set in context of course , got to love my mentor who steadfastly veered me away from 'Film Studies' and directed me towards a 'History' bent.) The only thing is that now whenever I read anything or watch anything, I'm forever placing it within its social, political and historical frame of reference because I can and get a kick out of it. Luckily I'm married to a very understanding DH who puts up with all my ramblings!
