I have a question about the suprise me that one of you ladies might be able to help me with. Just looked at the sizing and it is very similar sizing to the WTM midi. I thought messenger bags were suppose to be smaller than regular handbags??? Any thoughts??

I have messenger bags of several sizes. I think that the important features are for them to be quite simple in shape and relatively flat. The bigger they get the softer and flatter they need to be so they drape round your body. See some examples.

I think the Surprise Me looks like an excellent messenger. It is medium sized and very flat. It would be very soft and drapable in 'Cervo' type leathers. It has a zip top which is good security in a low hanging hip slung bag.

Anthony Messenger - 29.5 x 27 x 8cm
Surprise Me - 30.5 x 29 x 2.5cm

The Surprise Me is a bit taller and wider but much flatter. The Anthony actually has side panels. The Surprise Me seems to just have a front and back. It is more like a smaller version of a Mulberry Seth.

Hi Ladies,

I decided today to "hold off" on my SM order. I was quite tempted but then quickly came back to reality. I have lots of BE's to enjoy this summer and the wtm midi although quite different IMO from the SM will still serve a great purpose that I'm craving.

I'll look forward to reading reviews on this one!

I'm with Circoit, I don't like it either because I don't like those flat messanger bags in general.

I like the look of this style but am concerned it wouldn't hold enough to be useful for me, as I generally only use messenger bags for travel, not for just carrying basics every day. Like circoit, I sold a Bal flat messenger for the same reason.

I could use this messenger for travels, keeping all papers organised. Now-a-days my traveling is usually by car, and I have not only my own papers, but also passports and pedigrees with me from the dogs!
So I was curious, and I have ordered one in Tan !

Aah, who was I kidding (that I could use my wtm midi as a messenger)? I decided that I really do NEED a SM in my collection too.

This style doesn't seem to be getting a lot of attention on the PF but it will be my pleasure to "try" it for everyone and write a review!

I"m ordering a dark choco cervo with fuschia lining. Now, I just need to decide should I get the two zippers or just a plain back? Thoughts ladies?

I'm thinking that I"ll probably use the stitched side more and my concern is will the zippers/long tassels bother me if they are rubbing against my shirt or do you think I won't even notice?

I'd LOVE to hear everyone's opinion on this. I'm finalizing my order tomorrow with Jackie.

Maybe I"ll start a new thread just for more SM chit chat.

I think dark choco cervo will be lovely! I considered it before finally deciding on dark purple cervo. I also considered asking Jackie to replace the long tassels with plain zipper pulls to keep that side simple and keep it from snagging my clothing but I decided that I'd most likely wear this very casually with T-shirts so I don't think there'll be any issues with it bothering me. The long tassels could also be replaced with simple shorter tassels too if we find them too bothersome. Once mine arrives I'll post pics and a review too! I'm not sure when to expect it, Jackie seems so busy I hate to bother her though to ask! I'm kinda thinking it'll be a fun "surprise" for it to just arrive one day unexpected!
