Ha Ha That's too funny Jenova. I am comfortable with Mulberry, Miu Miu and Jimmy Choo. It's the Prada, Chloe, Gucci, LV, and Balenciaga that make me feel like I need to take it down a notch. TG - I have an LV Damier Wallet and small pochette in my bag, and even they make me a bit uneasy. The only reason I like that particular brand for accessories is because the coated canvas is indestructable. |

^^^I too have an LV French purse wallet...and I love the indestructability of it. It always looks fresh and sharp. But when I pull it out...it just screams...something that I don't like. Too bad that LV went masstige. (Prestige + mass market). They ruined their own brand. Now, whenever you see LV it looks like a fake, even when it isn't. And if people use LV they look like wanna be's.
I don't have any problem using my Mulberrys. I adore Mulberry. Well, the "old" Mulberry. Am not liking their new upward trendiness in the race to keep coming out with new products. |

I love the beetles on the first one but I don't have £4000. I must win the lottery or trade in my DH!
I love Mulberry's hobo bags at the moment. |

Ladies,
I am the same way about logo bags. I actually don't mind them at all on other people, but they don't feel right on me. I don't like people to know what brand I am carrying. I have a lovely LV Batignolles Horizontal that my DH brought back from Paris a couple of years ago, and I have used it only a few times. I am saving it for my daughter when she gets much older. It has a nice story to it. I love my BE because they are so gorgeous and well made but I am not overtly advertising how much I spent on a bag. |

I agree completely about the logo's.
But, at the same time I want a GREAT bag. You can go without the logo's and find various styles to enjoy.

I'm with the rest of you. I don't like visible logos or things that everyone has either. I went to the Coach store last week w/ my mom, a friend and her co-worker and if you told me that I could pick any bag and have it for free, I could not have done it. I didn't like anything, aside from basic things like wallets, etc., but those aren't screaming labels. I thought that the prices on the bags were too high for what they were too. I will get some compliments on my bags, which are mostly BE (aside from three others) and people will comment that the leather looks really nice, that they like the color, etc. I would feel really uncomfortable carrying a logo bag or something that everyone else had. |

I've never really grown out of a style, it's just that I seem to grow into additional ones!
I totally agree with lovebags2 on the Hold Mes. They're just so darn handy and easy to wear and use - bit addictive though! LOL!I understand what you're all saying about LV. I've been sorely tempted on numerous occasions and the logo thing has put me off a bit, but then there's always the damier....(although I worry that it might look too masculine on me?) I have a little bit of vernis, a 4-key holder, which I love to bits and use every day. It is indestructible and looks brand new. It is cradled within the loving bosom of an Angel Purse though! But the logo of that is embossed and much more subtle and they do some lovely accessories in fun colours that would look just right popping off against a BE lining...

^ I really like the vernis. The colors are so much fun, and they really don't look so LVish.
Jenova - I would like those Mulberry sky high green pumps. However, I'm fairly sure I couldn't walk in anything that high. I'm not so sure about the rest of it. Sometimes I have a little wild side, but I don't know if I am into that print.Okay, another reason why I come back to my BE bags. I love the messenger strap. There is nothing worse than needing to be hands free like in the Loo (for you British ladies ), and not have any way of holding your bag.

I've been through an LV phase too, but the nouveau-riche, masstige element really started to bother me after a while. I also missed leather. LV Epi bags are leather but they just don't have that sensuous feel and wonderful smell of Bal chevre, Prada cervo or BE luxe. That said, I love some of the more classic LV styles, so I've kept a few - one Epi, one Damier, and a small Mono bag I just adore the shape of.
I think ultimately I prefer bags that are amazing quality but don't shout "prestige" to others - although I love getting compliments as much as the next girl, it's more about my own personal enjoyment than making an impression on other people. My one and only Hermes is not a Kelly or a Birkin, so it's unrecognizable to most people...but an Hermes habit is simply not sustainable for me. Quiet, under-the-radar, reasonably priced luxury is one of the things I love most about BE. |

I so understand about logos! I do like the signature look of Coach sometimes and have one Coach bag that I carry on bad weather days or when I need a super light weight bag. I would probably buy another Coach siggie bag at the right price (under $100) because they are easy to carry but I don't feel weird carrying them. I do feel weird carrying LV which stinks because I love 2 of their styles; the Batignolles Vertical and Speedy 25. But I just cannot get past feeling like I'm being scrutinized by what I am wearing with my bag. I am a jeans and tennis shoe girl and I just can't get past feeling under dressed if I carry LV. But I don't feel that way carrying BE. I feel like my bag is my own guilty little secret for me and me alone! And I have to say that I love the luxurious feeling of having a bag that has been customized for me and one that I've spoken via email, twitter or FB to the owner/designer. The experience of purchasing is as much a part of owning a particular brand for me as is the quality and the subtle feeling of luxury that doesn't have to scream "I'm expensive!" (Did that make sense?) No matter what styles I outgrow and maybe come back to or never own again, I will always have several BE in my collection!

![]() ![]() I've always shied away from messenger straps (and messenger bags), only because of *ahem* my natural assets where I fear I might 'divide and conquer'! I've never put this to the test though, but I am a bit worried about it - maybe I should just go for it and get a messenger strap for say my LM Midi in Dark Grey and check it out. I do love the look of the extra rings...

Cornflower Blue, I have the same problem with messenger straps. I think a messenger strap *might* work if I'm wearing a really thick sweater or a heavy coat. I haven't completely tested this though.
