During the 3-day sale, I snagged a couple of bags, including this baby, which was full price, but seemed to have my favorite combination going - grey leather + purple lining + brass hardware + style I had been wanting to try. Will be posting pictures soon but must say I am incredibly happy with this bag!!!
First off, I'm glad it is the smaller Cannes size, as anything larger would have been too big for me - definitely agree with Larke there. Second, as comfortable as the bag is on the shoulder (with its generous shoulder drop), it is even better cross-body, as she just molds to you. I will show you with pictures. And the shoulder handles just fold down nicely when worn cross-body. i Lurve outer pockets and the zipper pockets, again as Larke said, are plenty functional and large enough for your phone, keys, CC, money, maybe even the metro pass holder - have to play around to see. But the side pockets are PERFECT for your phone, keys, ID holder, even a slim drink can. And they have a terrific little outer snap closure.
The bag can be cinched from the inside but also closes with a magnetic snap. The deep purple interior has always been a favorite of mine and I have been yearning for it with grey...so finally, we get to the leather. First off, YUMMY smelling leather! Second, this is a taupe-grey, so anyone looking for the cool tones, this is not it. Which is why the brass HW goes so well to pick up the brown in the leather, although I could see gunmetal being nice and edgy. The leather is very soft, almost feels brushed and has a light shimmer to it but not overly so - it's just so squishy and yummy and is the first bag that has made me want to swap out my black Barcelona which I have been using RELIGIOUSLY since I got her in January - religiously. In fact, my Barcelona just traveled with me to Japan and fit my netbook and purse items perfectly for my work there :)
The Cannes mini also has feet on the bottom whereas the Barcelona does not. Not sure why no feet on the Barcelona but i don't love her any less! But now she does have to share the spotlight with the Cannes :)
Both the Cannes mini and the Barcelona will wear with just about anything, from jeans and a tee to a suit, one thing I love about BE bags - the versatility is terrific!
Pics coming but it was raining cats and dogs today and I wasn't about to subject Miss Cannes to that!
oh thank you, but I am definitely not petite :) the midi is a very good size and definitely roomier than I expected also - very glad I did not go for the full size!
I did get a copenhagen and posted in another thread - do you like yours?? I would love to see pictures!! Hmmm, i think the zippered pockets would work on the CPH now that I think about it...but i do like that the pockets on the CPH are larger than those on the barcelona, i think - they seem to be a little deeper. Otherwise, it could be that my barcelona is very broken in and the CPH is still too new :)
