Default Question about the sale
Has anyone had a situation in a previous BE sale, where you bought something and then due to a BE snafu, they didn't have the bag to send you??? What did BE do then?

I remember last fall or winter someone bought a Love Me in that black and silver printed ponyskin, but then BE didn't have it. What did jackie do to make up for it?

I ask because I bought a taupe matte WTMmidi today, but was having credit card problems, despite my having called the credit card company to warn them of an overseas purchase. So Jackie said she'd put one aside for me (and run it though when the hubbub died down I guess.) (This happens every sale to me; it's SO annoying!) She didn't though, because she thought they had another in stock. But they only had one. Someone then bought the only one they had, though I'd paid for it. Jackie suggested other bags but I don't want them. Does this make sense? (I'm waiting to hear back from her.)

Thoughts?

oh Jenny1963! I am sorry to hear about this...you really look good with WTM midi..there is a LM in Taupe still available..maybe you can consider that?
But I agree this is very disheartening...what would your second choice be?
I hope the best for you! Good luck!!!

Jenny - I responded in the other thread - I was the one who bought and didn't get the ponyskin bag -- Jackie made me the same offer - another bag from available stock and I ended up with what is now my favorite bag!! I'm not sure what else she could offer you - it's unfortunate that you had cc issues and didn't get the bag --- if you continue to have cc issues, maybe use another card for foreign transactions? I use B of A and I don't even have to call them and never have an issue. I hope it all works out for you!

Hi Jenny,

I'm SO sorry to hear this. I do have a suggestion for you. Maybe you could ask Jackie if she could have her atelier produce a taupe wtm midi just for you this week? Then you can even choose your details such as lining which would make a sweet touch!

It's just a thought....

Hi Jenny, my credit card always gives me trouble too whenever I try to purchase from BE (to this day I do not know why) and giving them advance notice does not seem to make a difference.

If it weren't sale time, I think I would be quite upset, but as it is a sale and I am sure it's hard to keep an up-to-the-minute inventory, I personally wouldn't expect anything unless the credit card charge had actually gone through. I think it would be great for them to offer an alternative bag, but I do feel all is fair come sale time.

I know how you feel - I had something in my basket and was getting ready to pay when my DD woke up crying. I couldn't check out immediately and when I tried 20 mins later my item was gone:-(

I do hope you find something else you like! Or that this has a happy ending for you

I forgot to ask - were you set on another WTM Midi or did you want something Taupe? I see the Taupe TME midi still available (I have this in the taupe glossy and it is an amazing bag! I thought it had "boring" potential but I was completely wrong!). There is also still a Taupe TMA and LM Midi...

As for the WTM Midis, I think the gold would look smashing.

I'm sorry if I'm not understanding this but how is offering a different bag from available stock any sort of consolation for a mistake? I mean, it's available stock not stock that isn't part of the sale, right?

Jenny, I'm soooo sorry. Were you able to get anything in your order? I recall you ordered other things too?

I'm curious, do you own a LM Midi or a TME? Taupe gray matte is a really soft leather...and I mean soft that drapes quite nice against the body. I think the TME would drape against you not far from the WTM Midi crossbody style. I love the taupe gray in the LM style.

Honestly, I personally would love less my WTM Midi plum crash if I had multiple WTM Midi's (and you know I once owned more than one!!!) and mixing it up a bit helps you love your bag more.

I would follow your heart and if you settle on another bag, I would ask Jackie for return rights because there was a mistake. I think that is fair to her IMO.

This happened to me at last years sale. I ordered the only Choco Be Mine on sale (for like 240.00). I got a confirmation. Then days later was told that there was none and that it was just a mistake where they thought they had one but didn't. There was nothing to be done or nothing offered. At the advice of the group here I just put through a Bespoke order to get my beloved bag. Cost around 650-700 with shipping. I ended up not liking the style at all and sold it. Though resale value for BE bags are not very good and I finally let it go for less than 300.00.
My advice, do NOT do a bespoke at regular cost.

Oh YES, I totally agree that Jenny shouldn't order a bespoke at regular cost due to resale value issues.

I'm suggesting that Jenny request her bag produced by BEC while honoring the sale price since it was an error. I"m sure Jackie feels terrible and want's the chance to make it right again. That would be a happy resolution IMO. Of course, if Jenny were to add the extra's via BEC that the sale bag didn't offer then that would be an added expense. Otherwise, I don't see any reason why the atelier can't produce another bag for Jenny with the sale price being honored.

Just a thought. But, I"m sure there are several good options here for Jenny and BE to discuss.

Hi guys,
I haven't had a chance to think about it yet, but I DID want to say that jackie HAS offered to have her atelier make me the same bag to make up for the mistake. Amazing customer service, as ever. I'm not sure if I'll take her up on the offer, though. I may end up just going with one of the alternatives. I wanted, though, to thank all of you for your input, and also make sure to let you know that jackie's putting things right.

Thanks Jenny.

Kudos to Jackie for making that offer!!!! That's the solution that would have made me smile again!

Either way, at least you know the offer stands and can now take your time to decide.

xo P.S. I don't want to make your decision any harder Jenny but my taupe wtm midi really has become one of my favorite BE's. Right now I've been wearing it mainly cross body and I absolutely LOVE it!

Hmmm.... so, I think it's between the WTM midi in taupe and the Love Me midi in taupe.

I have never tried the Love Me midi. I do own the full-size Love Me in dark grey matte, which I think is gorgeous, but I've never worn it (I know; sacrilege!!) Why haven't I?? Well, whenever I try it on, it just seems boxy and the handles don't really want to stay on, although I KNOW they'd need to soften up, and once they had, maybe they'd stay on.

How is the Love Me midi worn as a messenger??

Thanks, guys!!!

Jenny,

Although my LM was my first BE (I think thats why I can't sell) I rarely use it anymore. And it's for the same reasons you've mentioned.

BUT, I do think the LM works for me on occasion as a "tote" style. I won't even try anymore to wear as a shoulder style and once I came to peace with that then I started to enjoy my LM more. Does that make sense?

I don't suggest an LM midi as a cross body. Yet, I love how the wtm midi looks for that purpose.

Hope this helps!
