LOL! This cracked me up!

This does concern me though as I have a matte taupe bag in BEC. I've changed the style a million times from a MMS Mini to a Be Mine Mini to a Rock Me to a Hug Me..... and on and on.... but I don't want a striped bag that I cannot return. I'd be bothered too. It's just way too much money to spend on a bag that you can't return or won't wear and resale value sucks. I hope you can work out a resolution that you can be happy with.

Don't even get me started on resale value on BE's (I'm lucky if I sell a brand new BEC for 200).
What can you do except be very careful and trust your instincts re taupe.

It's easy to offer great CS when things are running smoothly but in a situation like this you can certainly learn a lot based on how the customer gets treated! I've certainly learned a lot lately on our forum.

Susa, I hope you find a way to get this resolved!!!

I'd be kind of surprised if I received a bag like this and was told to suck it up, because it is clearly has unattractive looking marks on it that don't seem regular on new taupe bags (and aren't mentioned on the leather description, nor depicted in the taupe bag photos on the BE website). While it's not BE's fault, as Jenova said it is their place to compensate the buyer and then contact the workshop for their own compensation. Hopefully this is what will happen....keep us updated?

my taupe bag does not look like this. the leather has some natural variations like tan, but to me the straight lines look where the leather has been folded for storage or extreme sun damage. i would not accept this bag regardless of whether it's BE couture or not.

Susa, that bag is absolutely unacceptable IMO. The lines look terrible and even if the markings were on the back side, I would still like at least a discount of some sort for me to keep the bag.

BEC or not, if a customer is unhappy it is up to the comapny to make it right. I would email Jackie again and explain your feelings again. If the bag is just going to sit unused, that does nobody any good.

Susa, so sorry about your bag. I must agree with everyone. The white stripes on the front of the bag are very noticeable. I have three BE matte (tan, choco and dark grey) bags and they all have natural markings and variation in leather but nothing like this.

Agree Susa, I would be very disappointed with that bag and surprized that BE let it past their QC. I hope you can get this resolved.

Susa: I agree with Jenova, Suzi and the others. I would be very disappointed if I received a bag with these marks--whether it was a special order or not. IMO, those stripes (or cow stretch marks...) don't look "normal" but more like the aftermath of poorly treated or folded leather. I'm no leather expert, but it looks off to me. If this is normal for this leather and this bag, then it's a type of leather and bag I wouldn't buy. I hope BE takes it back.

merika: you made me laugh the first time today , thanks ;-)

Ladies, no news so far, Jackie still thinks these are normal markings, characteristic marking of matte leather, no issue at all, nothing worth a discussion

i have not asked her to take the bag back, she said, since I got it in the ltd. leather sale with 25% off, i got it for the price she has to pay

so there, if she does apparently not make any money out of this bag, I do not understand why she is not contacting the atelier and tell them that the bag is unacceptable and have me return the bag directly to the atelier ???
IMO it would be worth to try it

but it is not me to suggest solutions lk this

Sorry, you have to go through this. IMO, it is quite poor CS on behalf of BE. I also find it hard to believe that BE didn't make a profit off the sale of our bag.

I hope that a resolution can be made.

I totally agree!!!!

Susa - hang in there. I just have a feeling this will eventually get resolved or else BE might lose a lot of customer's going forward.

you know, this is far from what I intend, I just want to post my experience here, I do not have any intention to ruin Jackie's business at all.........no way

it is my experience, after good experiences (however I never had an issue so far), and I think it is just fair to fellow tpf users to post also negative experience

still, I wish Jackie , Rose and Maya only the best for the future and have no remorse at all, I am just disappointed the way an issue is handled, but in the end, it's just another experience you make in life, I have my ways to handle it

( i hope I did find the right words to express myself, since English is not my mother tonque )

I hope BE/Jackie does the right thing and will allow you to return the bag for a full refund. If not, I would enter a dispute with the credit card or payment service you used to pay for the bag.

Sybaryte: there is nothing more coming from BE, this is it !
I got the answer from Jackie that this is not an issue ! There was no room for any more discussion

And I cannot force sb to take an item back, well..........let's see ;-)

Susa, I"m sorry I just realized that I placed a smiley face in my post where it wasn't appropriate.

I meant to say that I had a good feeling this will all get resolved (happy ending) and place the smiley there NOT one following my observation about Jackie losing customer's. Does that make sense? This is all a shame and a smiley certainly doesn't belong there!

In any event I still think it will have a happy ending for you one way or the other! xoxo

It's been a long day!
