Hi!

I bought on eBay this gorgeous red WTM Midi from a lovely tPF member, and after a week one of the tag crystals fell out. Well, I contacted BE, and naturally they'll do anything to make me happy

They suggested I switch to studs on the tags instead of crystals, because studs are more durable.. But I do get new crystals if I want..Now, what to do..? I love the pink crystals, and I have no idea does the studs look as beautiful..? Does anyone have pics? Or opinions or? comments?

I thought that BE was using a new type of crystal that stay in better? I have a set of tags with studs but think that the crystals look much prettier.

I have not yet seen studs, but I'm going to get studs for my bags from now on..I think it's safer this way plus I think it'll look great! I'm not so much for this girlie stuff..lol..the simpler the better

Jeah..I'm still deciding :) The person who emailed me said that the new crystals are not much better..quite honest huh.. She wrote:
"Now we are using new stones, but they are also not much better, than the old ones.
We can make for you a new set of tags, but we can't guarantee that they will last long."

Does anyone have pics of studded tags? :)

Christa, what I've done in the past is put a thin layer (very carefully) of clear nail polish over the crystals when I first receive a new BE. As for the studded tags, that's news to me. I agree, we need pics of those.

Stick with the crystals. They are gorgeous and add so much personality to the bag IMO!

I think I'm gonna choose the crystals.. IMO too they add some personality and makes a cool edgy bag a bit more girlie :) Then I have to choose how.. The lady at BE gave me these options:

"So what we now recommend is either to make the plain tags with studs, without stones or just send you the stones and you will need to attach them yourself (eg. take it to a shoe repair workshop)."

My gut tells me that shoe repair shops have the best super glues..? Ideas?

Well this is quite bad..such a negative feature on a high quality bag.. But the customer service is the best, they'll fix it without a question

I like the crystals the best. I always paint over mine w/ nail polish, but I still lost one over the weekend. I'm debating on asking for new ones. Seems rather silly to have them send a crystal or two from the UK to the US, but a quick look at the craft/fabric did not find a match. Not sure what to do.

^I've looked in the stores and was unable to get an exact match.

I'm not sure which I like better. I love edgy looks, but I suppose it depends on the bag. I do like the crystals with the tan. I guess I'm not much help except to say that I always paint over mine with clear nail polish to keep them in place longer.

I've not had any crystals fall out (I've had four BEs, two with old tags, two with new). However, comparing the new and old crystals, I feel the new ones would fall out easier. They protrude past the metal clasp, whereas the old ones do not at all. In fact, the crystals on an older tag have definitely come loose from the glye, but appear to be being held in place by the fact the metal clasp hole is of a small diameter than the crystal. If that makes sense.

I ordered studs on my custom Hold Me...hopefully someone can post pics so we don't have to wait that long, but if not I will be posting when she gets here.

For me, it is crystals all the way.

I think the newer crystals are worse than the old ones. Frankly, its not the crystals that are the problem. Its the glue that they use to hold it in place.

I got my orange Hold Me from the group bespoke and I was just looking at the crystals and one of them fell out. Let me tell you that I don't have destructive super powers but it sure felt like it when that pink baby dislodged! There was even a generous clump of dried adhesive on the back of it.

Jackie offered stud replacements but I'm just going to glue the baby back in and give it a dollop of clear nail polish.

If BE put studs on all their bags from now on, I'm going to print a t-shirt for Jackie, Maya, Rose and whoever else that says "NO STUDS FOR ME!!!".
