Hi Ldies! Happy 4th of July for those of you in the US!
Anyway - just wanted to post that DH and I played 36 holes of golf today - It was hot and muggy out - had to wear sunscreen. Sometime early in the day, the sunscreen leaked in my golf bag....anyway, it ate through the stitching in the pocket it had been in. I'd like to know what's in sunscreen....its nasty stuff!! Needless to say, I just ordered a new golf bag online this evening. |

Jenova......I just checked the ingredients listed on the sunscreen I use (Clarins).
Anyways....amongst some techno stuff, the word "Acid" came up......which might explain a "tad" of why Bali had the threads of her golf bag munched on. Let's just say creams can be deadly. If I showed you my left eye, you'd think I was in the middle of filming the next Jason or Freddie Kruger Horror movie.......and it's all b/c I dared use a sample I received from "La Mer" to test their spectacular eye cream. Needless to say, it's not going anywhere near my bags!

See below. Maybe if you combine the acid in sweat and the acid in suntan lotion, you get a stronger effect?
Sweat is a salty, watery solution produced by sweat glands, numerous microscopic channels opening onto the skin surface. As sebum and sweat mix up on the skin surface, they form a protective layer often referred to as the acid mantle . Acid mantle has a particular level of acidity characterized by pH from about 4 to 5.5. A pH of 7 is considered neutral, above 7 is alkaline, and below is acidic. The pH of acid in the human stomach, for example, is usually from 1 to 2, which is highly acidic. The skin, on the other hand, is mildly acidic. In addition to helping protect skin from "the elements" (such as wind or pollutants), acid mantle also inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria and fungi. If acid mantle is disrupted or loses its acidity, the skin becomes more prone to damage and infection. The loss of acid mantle is one of the side-effects of washing the skin with soaps or detergents of moderate or high strength. |

I just want to add to zuzu's comment that things like lactic acid, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid are very common ingredients of moisturizers, cleansers and exfoliants and are really in general, more beneficial than harmful.

And since we are discussing leather and corner wear, I just want to make a comment regarding the pebbled glossy leather.
I took my Wine pebbled glossy Charm Me out yesterday and noticed that the leather looks more glossy now and the color seems to be deeper. This is a change that I am very happy about. I really feel that the pebbled leathers get better with use and age, and they would be my pick for hardiest BEs. |

I once wore my wine sheen AP extremely gently and yet still received negative results with wear on the corner's but my pebbled leathers all look as new as the day they arrived! I highly suggest a cervo leather for BE durability. And crash is lovely too. I even like matte because I happen to enjoy the markings (and there are markings on mattes) as they don't bother me. I think they actually add character! As long as they don't become too obvious and so far so good.
