Cornflower Blue,
It maybe so, as I remember checking the pics of matte chocolate bags here before I bought it and some seemed different from the others or the one I have. mine is a true dark chocolate, matte, no sheen at all, and it is also very dry here is the pic I posted when I got it, the shine is due to the flash,

Mentha, that sounds like the AP I had (which my mother now has - I'll ask her how's it wearing next time I see her).
Here's a pic of my LM Midi. |

I just polished my mildly scuffed Choco Matte AP and the marks all vanished obligingly.

The photos of chocolate brown all remind me of my favorite Bal leather, Mogano. I for sure want a choco brown bag but I'm saving it for my dream BE

I may be able to help with that question. My first chocolate matte bag was purchased during the first Love Me Mini bespoke. The leather was very thick and chewy with a lot of tonal variations. I believe this is the leather you have in your bag. My second chocolate bag I received was the Mahogany TME. This bag's leather was entirely different in that it was darker, with less tonal variations and was not as thick and chewy. In fact, the Mahogany had some textured leather, but the chocolate leather was completely smooth and more stiff. They are both beautiful leathers. The first was lovely due to the undertones. The second was nice because it was lighter to carry and I happen to like the look of slouchy bags. Sometimes the thicker leather takes a while to lose that structured look. Also, the first had corner wear right out of the box. The Mahogany did not. |

Wow.......I really want the mohogany/varigated one. That is gorgeous. I'm going to ask Jackie about this.
I do know that the leather can vary depending on the skin. I have 3 Tan bags and each one is slightly different in colour and texture. My Tan TMA for example reminds me of the original Tan whereas, my WTM and LM are a bit thinner and a slightly different hue. |

My WTM midi in the new medium purple matte has got minor signs of corner wear after just two outings. I've only put it down on carpet, the car seat or wooden chairs. It has blended for the most part with a but of rubbing but I will be watching closely.

Obviously she had to go to work with me the next day, which meant lots of different clothes changes - ha ha just to show her at her best - she was much admired, mostly by me, and got quite a bit of attention. Driving home, snuggly belted in - both of us - (handles through the seat belt on the front passenger seat - once had oak Rosemary land on the floor on top of my breakfast plate of buttered toast - multi-tasking again!!!) and horror of horrors, noticed a really pale, rubbed mark about the size of an apple on the back. Had to pull over immediately for a closer look. Still have no clue as to what caused this, she was not overfilled, and although I dont baby the girls, they are not abused. Anyhow, to cut a very long post shorter, problem was solved by 3 applications of Clarks Premium Leather Cream, well rubbed in and left to dry between each application. I am now happy to report that she is the smooshiest and one of the most beautiful bags that I own. Just as an aside - my LM in mottled gold - part of the wonderful Moonfancy May 09 bespoke, is truly a fantastic workhorse - can be thrown around all over the place even when packed to capacity and still has not got a single mark or blemish - and she has got soaked twice. Happy wearing everyone

My TME's - Dark Grey Glossy and Black Crash both showed no signs of wear prior to selling them. The black crash is a totally cool leather!
I did start to get signs of wear on my Turquoise sheen AP so I moisturized and waterproofed and now I carry her in a baggy in my purse so that her naked corners don't get bounced around into my other stuff. She is still perfect! Believe it our not many of the Hermes ladies buy Longchamp Pliages for their Birkins so that they are protected enroute to their destination or if they are lunching and need to set the bag down. So, did you know that with every Ignes bag purchase you get a purse hanger so you never have to set your bag on the floor? I thought that was such a good idea when I got my first bag from them! It's in my desk and I use it every day for my bags. |

Zuzu, there's a posh 5-star restaurant here in town that serves fabulouso food etc.....and a wine bar that is TDF......anyways....the MOST important aspect of that restaurant is that they provide a posh designer "foot-stool" for your bag to set down on.
Now aside, from a Vintage Barolo or Louis LaTour, could you ask for anything more???!
