Karmenzsofia sorry this happened to you. Looks like you have the older, original tags. Slap some clear-coat sealant on the new ones once they arrive. But your idea sounds like a good one.

I love these crystals.....makes me smile.......glad Jackie has kept using them.

I'd ask for crystals and then put the clear nail polish on. I haven't lost any crystals since I started placing the polish on. I think it looks better with your dark gray bag.

Thank you all for your opinions and info. I wish I had read about the clear nail polish here before buying or using the bag. Crap. Anyway, I'm waiting to hear back from Jackie or anyone there about the replacement tags. I want my HM to be "whole" again...

I reckon one of my old tags is made that way. I got it secondhand, and one tag has a loose crystal that I can wiggle back and forwards with my fingernail, but it hasn't fallen out. The newer tags have the crystals glued on top. I think I posted some absolutely dreadful comparison photos on some thread.

That's what I thought when I saw these--that they were lose in there and wouldn't fall off kuz of the edge of the stud being smaller than the top of the crystal. Apparently, that's not so....

I luuuuuuv it!

I always knew this was the BE for me kuz of the unusual design, and I'm 100% sure I made the right choice in color and leather. The glossy crinkled leather is super soft and low maintenance, plus it smells really good. I think it looks perfect with the shiny silver HW.

Lots of the crystals in my back tags fell out. I think that they are they ones that get hit and rattled. I tried a pair with plain studs and thought they were very dull. Luckily I had to send the bag back for another reason and got a second set of tags with crystals sent me by mistake. Now I am using both sets, with the plain studs on the bottom on each side of the bag.

The nail polish trick definitely works so I am doing it immediately on delivery now. I also find that filling the hole up with coloured nail varnish on a tag that has lost its crystal gives a pretty effect.

Yeah, I thought it might be. I wonder if another alternative to the nail polish would be the take one of the tags off the ring and put it back on backwards. This way the metal backing won't be hitting the crystal all day.

I've lost a lot of the crystals on my tags and on my next bag I'm getting the studs.

Now this is strange..I've never lost one single crystal ever..and my bags are not babied at all! But perhaps I should put some varnish on them.

I always put a layer of clear nail polish carefully over the crystals on my BE's. I've yet to have one fall off. Sorry that happened to you Karmenz.

Clear nail polish is actually a great idea! I've had so many crystals fall off that I just resigned myself to tuck them away for safe keeping in case I sell later. But, now I"m going to try the nail polish and maybe actually start enjoying.

I still think it's more the proper responsibility of the company to take the time and care to remedy this as it doesn't give a good reflection upon the company with this issue BUT I"m going to buy clear nail polish this weekend and start enjoying my crystals! I"m glad there was an easy fix for this that my smart PF friends discovered.

Thanks everyone!

Me neither! I did turn my tags back to back on my TME so that the crystal on the back tag doesn't keep getting smacked on the front tag but I've never done anything to prevent my crystals from falling out before and I've never had one go missing! I may consider some clear nail polish too though just in case!

I was hoping to find the crystal in the house or in my car to try to glue it back. But I couldn't find it.

tl, bonnie
: I'm amazed to hear that you have none missing when you don't even "baby" your bags given how soon one of mine fell...yet...I shouldn't be amazed kuz as lovebags2 said this shouldn't be happening to any of the bags (with a rare exception, I suppose) to begin with.

cindy: Hi! Long time, no see. It's good to see you!

sgreg, tl: How do you turn them back to back? I see a small, round stud that attaches the strip of leather that goes in and out the rings on the tags back to the strip a bit above the tags--is that something you can pry open and close again?

ETA: I almost forgot! I've decided to get new tags with the crystals, and I'm going to try the nail polish on them. Thank you all for your opinions and info.
