I'm Barb, 56 last birthday. Married, 2 grown children, 3 dogs, and the
world's most patient and understanding DH. Used to be an ICU nurse, many
years ago before I had the kids.

I'm so thankful for this forum because, as many have stated, NOBODY
else understands what is UP with all the purses! (Well, DH tries to).

I remember when I was about 10 or so having a quarter to spend at the
"Dime Store" and s-t-a-r-i-n-g for hours at a tiny little red coin purse
I was craving. So I guess I started young.

My first designer bag was in my 30's....an LV Speedy.

I've been pretty ill the last few years and have gained a LOT of weight.
Now that I'm getting better, the bags represent to me how I will
be able to dress in the future...it's like the first step in the process...if
that makes any sense at all? :) I can't buy pretty clothes yet, but
I can enjoy my Bbags, Chanels, and LV's. Twenty pounds lost in the
last 2 months from low carb eating, btw.

Looking forward to getting to know you ladies.

Barb,
Congrats on the 20 pound weight loss and on returning to good health.
I'm 54, have one 20 year old daughter who just moved into her own apartment, 3 dogs, and have been single since my daughter was 2. I've been practicing law for what feels like a million years. I stumbled onto Bbags in early 2008. Then stumbled onto this forum trying to get information on where to purchase them, and found loads of information. Read alot of the posts for quite some time before I ever jumped in. Thought I was the only woman "of a certain age" lurking around a bunch of kids, so it is so good to know there are others out there. But to me this forum is great as it seems to cross age, ethnic and geographic boundaries. Everyone here has at least one, if not many, things in common, and that is what draws me here to check in after a stressful day. Thank you, ladies, for the camaraderie!
P.S. Pilatesworks, you make me feel guilty for getting out of the habit of my pilates. I guess I have to get back to it before I post any modelling pics!

Hi ladies!

This is a fun thread, I'm only 25 but am enjoying about reading about all of you, so keep it coming. In 15 years, I'll be able to join.

My mum is 53 this year (?) and she rocks the Bbags, but alas, it was me who got her into it, so to speak.

I could only hope to have as much grace and style as my mum when I grow older.

Rock on ladies, rock on.

Rere, let's start our own "quarter century club". Yay!

Personally, I think that this world has strayed from 'respecting our elders'. NOT saying you ladies are elders, by any means, but I respect and admire ALL of the your viewpoints about life. So keep 'em coming!!

Hi Barb ! Great to meet you! We are so glad that you are here!
It sounds like you are on the right track, I am glad you are feeling better.
I agree, nothing like some fab bags to pick up your spirits!
Keep up the good work on your low-carb diet, before you know it you will be getting into those beautiful clothes. Don`t rush it, be patient....slow and steady weight loss is the way to do it! Congrats!

Sure, Sis, as long as we can share bags!

But hey, we are ALL sisters here, right?

Well, I don't do pilates but I do weight train, practice tai chi, some martial arts. I used to train with kickboxers but my body can't keep up anymore. I only recently discovered massages! I believe they are therapeutic and help your body function better. Anyone else sign up for spa week specials?
OHHH yeah, my Twiggy is not the only one that gets to go to the spa! I LIVE for my massages!

Hi Ellie Mae! I can see us with all our BBags piled in the basket so we can take them all out at once!

I'm turning 39 next month, but dang it I wanna join this club.

I'm a single mom to a 7 year old with Autism and ADHD...life is a bowl of laughs in my home! I've been collecting Bbags since Fall 2005 and I have about 8 Bbags and 5 accessories.

I used to be into Gucci, but have sold or given away all those bags. Now I carry Bbags exclusively and have gotten many friends hooked on them as well.

LOL.....Maybe we could design our own scooters and instead of baskets, replace them with the largest BBAG they make...Just imagine all the beautiful colored scooters with their own personal bbag right in the front.

Gillianna, Just turned 50 and learning that with each year I feel a bit wiser and can let go of more things and just accept life as it hits you.
I have 2 children a wonderful son who is 13 today (a teenager) and a daughter who is 10 going on 18 (such a little fashion diva). I have been married for 30 years......
The kids are our life. We have 4 rabbits as our main pets. The kids and working from home keep me busy.
I just made the decision last night to consign my other bags and get more BBags. At this point in my life I am so loving the stunning BBag leather and colors and don't want any shout at me bags (LV) and am even getting rid of my YSL.....so hopefully in a month or two I should have the start of a nice but small collection.
I am now so motivated to do Pilates---I am going to set up my Pilates exercise machine in my bedroom and actually hope to use it each morning.
The people here on TPF have been shown that they are some of the most supportive and nicest people around.
I am going to have a scooter with one of those drag along back carts to carry all my stuff in.....
