Hi everyone, I'll be 45 in a couple of months and am happy to be here in the over 40 club. My three kids (12, 10, 6) keep me plenty busy so I have huge admiration for anybody out there who is caring for a special needs child. ruthfmc, 40 or not, you deserve to be here (and I think your plomb hobo is just gorgeous. ).

Ever since I discovered Bal about 18 months ago I've not touched another bag. Love them and they fit my style and life just perfectly.

She will be 18 next month and we are going through guardianship processing now. The legal stuff is crazy! I agree that these children teach us many lessons. Maybe that is why we have this attitude about our age that some people don't understand. I've always been a health nut (organic maniac) and I still run 4 miles a day. I guess its an outlet and I know that I have to live long so I can take care of my daughter when Im really old. Even though some of my friends dont get it; I will continue to act as young as I feel....
I feel great and have a lot of energy too!

***Never take life too seriously!
It sounds like we have more in common than just our undying love of BBags!
I feel the same as you, gotta take care of myself so I can be there for my son later, when he and I are both old. His sibs are also willing to look after him if we are gone, but I plan on living until I am 110!
Rock on!

Drati, welcome to this elite club!
Where do you live? I read recently that you live by the sea, and I know that YOU know you are so lucky!
I used to live on the Red Sea, now am landlocked in Tx, a fish out of water!
We have a lakehouse, but to me it doesn`t feel the same if you can look across a body of water and see land on the other side! And there is much more interesting sealife in salt water, oh I miss it!

Hi everyone! I'm glad you lowered the age requirement for Zimmerframe!! I am 41 and have two kids, a severely disabled 6 year old son (has seizures every day) and a 4 year old 'typical' daughter - both of them make my world go 'round. Oh, and Bbags and handbags in general. I think that Bbags & TPF are my "escape" from the real world sometimes!!! Anyway, I am glad to meet other Bbag lovers here!!

And, Pilatesworks - what is your secret??? I work out 3x a week but my body doesnt show it : (

I love the ladies on the tpf and it's great to have something in common with ladies of ALL ages and backgrounds.
Ok, we need ice-skating pics!
I loved being an ex-pat, didn`t you?
and I agree, the best is yet to come!

Hi ! I think Pilates/weight training is what does it for me, but everybody is different- I cannot run to save my life!
ITA that BBags and TPF are a great escape....I would not enjoy my bags half as much without having you guys around to chat about them and life in general!

Elite club, I like it. Makes me feel special.

BTW, I lied in my intro, my oldest isn't 12 yet -- funny, she keeps talking about her birthday so I made her older than she actually is. 1 month and 29 days to go until she hits 12 ...

I grew up in landlocked Europe but in '83 I moved to New Zealand and have lived here ever since. Surrounded by lots and lots of water at the bottom of the world. Every place has its advantages and disadvantages and there's lots of things about Europe that I still miss. But I am very happy that my kids are growing up in such a beautiful environment with a freedom that's probably hard to find now in many parts of Europe.

I've seen a few bbags here, not many, and a couple of fakes, but generally nobody here knows these bags which suits my low key style just fine.

Oh, good plan, Muggs! This was a fun thread on Chloe!
DEF over 40, DEF a bbag girl. Although I'm opting for a power scooter with basket over the zimmerframe! The power scooter keeps other folks out of your way!

Hi everyone! Well, I started my Bal obsession in 2007 when I was 43, which is the same time I discovered this great forum! Oh yeah, count me in as turning 45 this year, too!

Well, I don't do pilates but I do weight train, practice tai chi, some martial arts. I used to train with kickboxers but my body can't keep up anymore. I only recently discovered massages! I believe they are therapeutic and help your body function better. Anyone else sign up for spa week specials?

yes, loved being an ex-pat until 911, then it wasn't so much fun trying to travel. We were living in Indonesia when that happened and being in the largest muslim country was a bit scary although the people there are really sweet, it just was different. I met my husband and moved to Egypt to be with him, we went to the red sea a lot! That was nuts there, I bet you have some stories!

^^^^^yes, we came home a couple of years after the Gulf war, things changed after that for us. We had a bunch of little kids at that point, and felt we should be closer to home. OHHH, I bet you have stories, too!!!!

Thanks! Unfortunately, the video that I have is not really of good quality. I need to hunt down another one. My husband followed that number by dancing to "I'm Too Sexy for My Shirt," ha!

This thread has been busy, and everyone's stories are so inspiring. You make me tired just listening to all you do!

I have been on this forum for a while thinking it was mostly a lot of young women (and that I was silly to be on here). I am sure the majority are, but it's nice to see the number of ladies here who are still "young" but may be old enough to inspire the rest because of the awesome life experiences.
