As we are now the 'Over 40s Group' rather than the 'Over 50s' I can join as I am 46. I have been buying Balenciaga since 2007 but would term myself a Bagaddict rather than a Baladdict as I have several fetishes on the go at the same time. My Baladdiction is actually pretty well under control at the moment.

Hi I'm 41 this year but I don't feel like it. Just numbers ^^

I love Bbag with regular hardware, as it suit me perfectly than others hi-end brands.

WOO HOO !!!! I am 52.5 and so happy!
about me:
I am Leslie ( aka Pilatesworks) , and I have 4 teens, ages 13,14,15,and 16. They are all exactly 1 year apart, the middle 2 actually were born on the same day 12/21, in 1993 and 1994! My eldest son is autistic, and we learn so much from him every day. He is a dear, sweet boy that reminds us daily that love, patience, and tolerance do indeed make the world go round! He is my spiritual guide, truly.
I teach Pilates PT, and I am also a massage therapist, and fitness enthusiast.
I just got re-married to my ex DH on 2/28/2009!
I used to teach scuba-diving in the Red Sea, we lived in the Mid-East for 20 years, returning to the USA 9 years ago. I spent most of my adult life abroad, and I loved every minute of it!
I am so looking forward to chatting with everyone, even the young'uns- they need to see how much fun we are !!!!!
Wow, pilatesworks! I can really relate to your story. I have 3 teens (14, 17 & 19). My 17 yr. old was born with a chromosome disorder that has left her with autistic characteristics and she is mentally challenged. She will be 18 next month and we are going through guardianship processing now. The legal stuff is crazy! I agree that these children teach us many lessons. Maybe that is why we have this attitude about our age that some people don't understand. I've always been a health nut (organic maniac) and I still run 4 miles a day. I guess its an outlet and I know that I have to live long so I can take care of my daughter when Im really old. Even though some of my friends dont get it; I will continue to act as young as I feel....
I feel great and have a lot of energy too!

I'm 24 and you ladies are very inspiring Having a young mentality is so important. People get old not when they're over 40 or 50 or 60, but when they let go imo.

Wow...makes me excited to hit 40+ reading your stories! I'll be 39 in August, so I've still got a bit of time until I qualify. But I thought I'd pipe in, only because I also have a child with special needs - Down syndrome, actually. I have five kids - 17, 14, 12, 9 and 4. My 12 year old has Down syndrome, and she is a true angel in my life. Maybe we need another thread for those of us parenting kids with exceptionalities!

Another oldie but goodie checking in! I'm 53, have 3 bals and probably wouldn't have been able to afford them in my younger years, so there are lots of +++ to being a cougar! I coach ice skating and have quite a few competitive skaters that have a hard time keeping up with me! I also play a lot of golf with DH and we travel all over playing. We also lived overseas for the last 10 years in 8 different countries. Between the two of us we have lived in 17 different countries in our lifetime. We've had a pretty exciting life so far and feel like the best is yet to come!

I love the ladies on the tpf and it's great to have something in common with ladies of ALL ages and backgrounds.

Another thread would be nice.
I didn't expect to get these responses.
Its always nice to meet someone else who can truly relate.

...and you have five kids, boy, I thought 3 was a challenge.

well done, Leslie. your post reminds me of these words uttered by Edward Walker (William Hurt) in The Village:
"The world moves for love. It kneels before it in awe."

i'll be 40 next year. hello, all

I am 46 and just discovered Bal a couple of months ago. I had my children late in life - so I have 2 boys - 6 and 4 yrs old - I come here to destress.
I love being in my 40s I do what I want, say what I want, and wear whatever I want and could not care less what anyone else thinks - the best time of my life!

I am 55 this May and have 5 Bbags, and wish I could have found them sooner! Have sold and bought several over the last couple of years and enjoy keeping up with the new styles/colors here on TPF. I read here almost everyday and am amazed at the knowledge, kindness and helpfulness of all the Tpf'ers, its' really a great group of people!

I live on a tiny island in the Gulf Islands, we have no traffic signals and no fast food joints, it's full of artists (me included) and no one would know a Bbag from a hole in the ground! My daughter just rolls her eyes when I show her my new bags, "isn't that sorta bright, Mum?" LOL! I recently got her to carry Coach, so maybe there is hope for her in the future?

It sounds beautiful there! Just my kind of place!

I'm 41 and have been loving Bbags since I was 38. I can now actually afford Bbags. I didn't have any asset of value until well into my 30s (unless you call a heavily debt-laden law degree an asset), so for me this is the era of Bbag indulgence. The uncontrived simplicity and drool-inspiring luxury of Bbags are timeless and I plan to carry them till I die.
