Thanks for sharing this. You have put it all in perspective for me as to why I am downsizing my collection to just 7-10 bags. In an emergency I too may be forced to leave my home in NYC. I am keeping the three Bal bags I own but am selling off alot of my other bags. I can't see the point in having so many bags that are not regularly used. This is the place I am at now in my life.

I know, the thought of leaving those gorgeous EXPENSIVE bags to burn just turned my stomach. I totally would pack one suitcase of Bals and forget about bringing clothes. Does that mean I have issues?

No, you don't. We were having a huge flood last year. All I took were all my Bals, Chanels, and jewelry. I never worry packing my clothes. :)

I will sell any of them without a doubt because I can still find them...I mean rare color is one thing. Unless the design is no longer being produced. Even that you can get evilBay

I tried to sell one or two of my bags. They offered very little for them so I decided not to and I am now glad I did. However there come times that I want to buy a new one and I know it would be easier if I got the money from selling and not saving that hard. It seems I am really attached to them even though they are things, I love their colors their styles, even their smell. That's why I have almost all the styles. I wouldn't sell if I were you. In case or fire as mentioned above, I would definitely get them out after my cats of course.

I think we all must have an issue or two when it comes to our bags. I have thought the same thing about if a hurricane comes, what do I take? Well, top of the list is the cats and the bals! thank goodness they are light and pack down easily! (not the cats!) All the rest of my bags can go, but not my bals. I have even got the right bags in my closet that all of them fit in, so I'm ready! But, yes, I can't hanlde any more so would have to sell one to get one and I'm just not prepared to do that.

Hi redskater! Thanks for confessing your issues (Hi, I'm shelzbags and I'm a Balenciaga neurotic....) so I don't feel alone. ITA, after my DH and kids and dog, next come the Bals!

Ive sold a number of lv bags and never regretted it. I will probably sell my city; I want to love it, but it's a hair too small. I can't deal with such a short strap drop. I'll probably trade it up for a work.

And with that...my city is on the way back and my work will be on its way here. Life is short.
