Hi everyone, I'm new to Balenciaga. I usually hang out in the Louboutin & Herve Leger threads but I am considering which Balenciaga should be my first B purchase and I thought this might be the place to ask questions. Please let me know if it's not the right place.

I'm debating between a twiggy, day & courier. More so the twiggy and day I think. I've looked in the reference library and I don't think I've seen the twiggy on the shoulder.

What I wanted to know with the twiggy, does it take on a bent banana-like shape when worn on the shoulder by the strap? That's a look I'm not that keen on.

I'm thinking of getting it in anthracite or officier or maybe an exotic but the first two will probably go with more things IMO.

Thank you for letting me ramble but any feedback anyone has would be great. Thanks!

Hi! I just purchased my first BBag from Bal.com and I feel absolutely giddy! I chose the black RH City w/ planet, and I can't wait for it to arrive! Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and comments on this site!

Hi girls,

I too am contemplating a purchase. I've been back and forth with deciding that I want one.

I'm scared about keeping it in top shape. Is it that hard to take care of?

Hi there! Those 3 bags are REALLY different. I have owned DAY and COURIER. I personally did not like the day because the strap is really not IMO long enough to be a nice shoulder bag. The courier is a HUGE bag. If you like HUGE bags, then this is a good bag, and the strap is long enough to shoulder. I, too, have been contemplating the twiggy. I have a CITY, and the CITY, thus far, IS my fav style. It's a great size and has a longer shoulder strap, when needed. Twiggy is of ao comparable style. I have been advised by other twiggy owners that it CAN sag in the center when carried by the shoulder strap. BUT.. TBH, I still think I want one!!
If you have not already, visit the REF LIBRARY and check out all the PIX and the info on the SIZES. May help you decide. BALS are FABULOUS, whatever you get!

^Thanks for your feeback Ellie May. It's quite handy. I'm always weary about the hobo style bags as I hate how if you want to rummage around for something they don't seem to give you enough room to get your arm in. They do look nice once they've softened and slouch in pics that I've seen though. I tried looking for modelling shots on the shoulder of the Twiggy and I don't think I could find that many. Hmmm, I may have to see what's around in the city style. Thanks again!

ASK Pilatesworks or MMMSC for Twiggy modeling photos... they are both Twiggy gals!!
I have owned City, Courier, Day, Part-Time, Flat Messenger styles. The City and the Flat Messenger are my FAV. The flat messenger is also a nice style if you like a long strap and want more "organization".
But I AM going to buy a twiggy.. one of these days. Or steal one from MMMSC.

Does anyone take the tassels off of their bbags? I just got my first bag and am not sure I am comfortable with them.

^^^^^Hiya lilmissb and Ellie! here I am ! Y'all are probably asleep by now tho.
I actually am down to 2 Twiggys, I like the style, but for some reason do not reach for them! AND one is a gorgy Eggplant! I just love looking at that bag, it is ART to me!
WHy don`t I wear my Twiggys more? I don`t know. I think for some reason they are small to me. BUT they actually are not small, can fit as much in a Twiggy as I can in a City.
Is it because I have been getting used to gigantic Couriers, and the Twiggys are dwarfed by the Courier, and so they feel extra small to me?
I have Citys, PTs, Days, Couriers, and Hobos. And a Clutch too!
At the moment my 07 Black GSH Day is my favorite. I also LOVE the Hobo, easy to find things in it, but cannot hold as much as a Day.
BUT I am VERY fickle, and who knows what I will wear next month. I currently have 4 Couriers, and I love that style for casual running around. It is a great style for summer, IMHO. I can throw everything I would ever want in there, and they look great. Yes, they are huge! Check out the Courier Clubhouse thread, I have posted some mod pics there.
I do not have mod pics of the Twig on my shoulder, I never carry it that way.
It is hard to know what you will like 'till you get a bag IRL and try it on.....
Ellie Mae! I want you to look for a Flat Messinger for me please!
I think you just have to get a Twiggy, Ellie, and be done with it! I will send you one of mine as a loaner so you can check it out if you want!

Ohhhh, not me! I just bought 2 extra Tassles for my Violet Courier, I am going to double up on tassles for fun!
I can see how they might be annoying to some people, i know that some tie them up, or take them off altogether.
See if you get used to them but I do not recommend cutting them! Hard to re-sell later like that, better to tie them up.

LESLIE.. look at you here in the middle of the night! I have this ITCH for a WHITE or CALCAIRE twiggy. Not just any twiggy but a color one cannot POSSIBLY ever keep clean. I need to be shot. I AM going to get one.. color TBD.
I cannot believe that you are not using those gorgy twiggys. Silly girl! Are you carrying any of your paddys?
I could not ever love my courier. It was just too "bottomless pit".. too big.
ALTHOUGH, that would be a FAB bag for travel when one had to carry lots of stuff. YOU likely NEED a courier every day w/ that crew you keep track of!
There was a FAB flat messenger on ebay, but the strap had been CUT OFF! WTF.. who cuts a strap OFF on a messenger. The point of the messenger is the LONG strap!! Mine is an 04 PH.. 40" strap. Cross-body and STILL hang low-slung on the hip. Trust me.. if I could find another of these, I'd snatch it up. They are hard to find! I LURVE this bag.
TTFN dahling... TTU manana!

Thanks Ellie May I hope you get that Twiggy you're after!!! Apple Guard it immediately though otherwise....

Thanks for all the feedback Leslie, it's always nice hearing from the people who actually own these styles!! I looked at the measurements for the Twiggy and was so surprised that the dimensions are pretty similar to the City. I can understand how a Twiggy is tiny in comparison to a Courier. Those things are HUGE! Probably handy for travel etc but day to day for going to work it might be a bit much for me the more I look at it. Although it would make a nice all in one gym bag/work bag...put a Giant Handle or Giant Envelope in to take out at lunchtime to run errands....ok time to stop dreaming!!! LOL

The hobo or messenger or besace look good. I can't believe I overlooked those styles. They seem to suit what I'm looking for as I don't really like holding my bag on my arm I prefer to sling it over my shoulder. I have my eye on a couple of Twiggys in Anthra, Camel & Sanguine though that could sway me as they're gorgeous!

Oh, I think I just need to buy one of each style really!!!
