Hi and welcome!
Some use AppleGuard to protect their bags, there is alot of info in the 'Care and Maintenance 'section. I personally like the Lovin My Bags products( aka LMB) . They have a good website you can visit, and read about what products they offer. I would definitely recommend LMB`s `For Handles Only' to protect the handles from darkening.
I think the City is a classic style, can`t go wrong with that!
I prefer the City over the Twiggy, and have not seen the square tote yet, so cannot comment.
PS : I am 52, you can`t be that old! LOL ! Come and visit us 'oldies' on the Zimmer Thread ' here on the Bal Forum, if you are over 40!

^^I think you should get a city bag. It's the most classic style imo which I think works on ALL ages!

Hi, I'm 5'9 too and I found the city too small for me. The strap isn't long enough either. I prefer the part time or, for a smaller bag, the twiggy. Just works better for me but many here love the city above any other style.

If you can, try them before you buy.

Thanks so much for the welcome! I think the larger City would be good for me, as I am tall-5'8 and the standard at 13" on a tall person just seems too small for today's look. AND I do want to dump the old lady look!! I do apprecate the tip on the spray, too.

Hi girls, thanks for your input. I think I'm going to go for the city because the part time seems a little shorter. I am absolutely in love with the amethyst, but I can't seem to find one. But I see some magentas and they seem to have so many different shades. I like it a little more purplish than pink. How strange when pink is my favorite color. Anyway I was wondering does anyone know if some magenta's are more pink than others or if it is just lighting or different cameras? Does anyone have a magenta? Some I see look like amethyst. Thanks.

I've completely forgotten abt them... having moved 3 times in 2 years... most things are still in storage boxes!! I'll have to dig them up now!

Hi Guys! Can anyone help me locate a brand new Marigold City RH?

I emailed Bal LV, and they told me they had 2. I thought I had scored, so when I called them up to find out about the condition, David tells me the bags were non existent.

So I tried emailing Bal NY. Bill replies and says they had two. I thought I had scored again but when I asked him, he said 2 Marigold Citys had flaws on the side! And if he bought it, he'd be bothered by the flaws.

It's so frustrating... I'm kinda hell bent on buying a bag. You know how you've envisioned yourself using a certain bag already? I've imagined it with the Marigold City... So now I'm kinda thinking of getting the Origan City. Is it versatile? I'm a brown person so I'm scared I might look like a weirdo with a green bag... Even if it's olive green...

If you have envisioned yourself with the Marigold, then that is what you should get. You can check the other Bal boutiques, phone numbers are in the reference thread. Also, they pop up on ebay, often in excellent condition.

Alternatively....have you asked Bill to send photos of the flawed bags? If he's talking about a rub or scrape, often conditioning fills it in, and virtually "dissappears," it. Maybe they could give you a discount? Or is that an insane idea?

From my personal experience, when I "make-do," with a different bag than the one I've been dreaming about...it just means I end up with an extra bag. Sometimes one I have to sell when my dream bag finally shows up.. One of the reasons, I'm "Bal-Poor."

Hi guys! Hope everyone is going ok.

Well I bought my first Bal 2 weeks ago, an athra giant handle. I posted it in the HGBags thread. I couldn't resist because it was so cheap! As much as I love it, it hasn't quenched my thirst for a bag!!! LOL!

Can you tell me where I can get a giant hobo? Not the day but the round bottom one. The boutiques I call say it has been discontinued and they have no stock! It's frustrating as I think that's the style I want but I can't have it!!!

You can try calling Bal Las Vegas, ask for David.
They had an 08 Sapphire GSH recently that just sold.
Kim at Bal NY had some Hobos also, I know there was a Mastic GGH available recently, and an 07 Vert Fonce GGH that just sold.
it is definitely worth it to call all the Bal stores and ask about old Hobo stock!
