MichK, just like the others, I suspect your Brief looks big on you because it doesn't "drape" on you the way your Works and WEs do.
![]() delmilano, your Ink Box is such a cutie!! Does it fit comfortably on your shoulder? And oh my gosh, your Black GGH Work definitely deserves to see the light of day! |

michk - I think the Brief looks bigger than the WE because the way the Brief is structured, it "carries" its frame from top to bottom. The triangular shape becomes very apparent. Your WE flops around you so you don't see it as one "piece", just a lot of lovely drapey leather. Does that make sense?

Thank you, ladies, for taking the time to share your honest opinions - they mean so much to me, and really help me to look at the Brief on me with objective eyes.
![]() ehc2010 - thank you for the feedback! Leslie - thank you! I will try to take some pics from different angles (the Brief looks insignificant from the front!). roey - I'm upset the Brief doesn't look on me the way yours does on you! Why is it that yours looks almost the same size as your Day? Mine looks twice as big as my Day. I did stuff it with things, the usual stuff I carry, to weigh it down. But it didn't succeed in weighing the bag down and breaking its structure. The bag isn't stiff, by any measure (in fact, it's super floppy) but it hold its shape very well. I feel it looks like an exaggerated A-line skirt! I just find it weird that it works so well on you and Saff, and that it looks so big on me (and we're all about the same size). Beaux - thanks! It could be because it's not broken-in. I know that Briefs do get slouchier with use. I'm hoping this does. I guess I have to decide - after a few more tries - if I should sell it while it's still new, or use it to death and hope it breaks in well. Delmilano - thanks, honey, I hear ya! I will try stuffing it more and see if that works over the next few days. It didn't seem to have much effect last night. I love how smooshy your Brief is (you know how I love your pics) and I was hoping mine would look like that. wingit, bag-gage - completely get the "drape" factor. I think you guys are right that the structure of the Brief makes it look larger than the Work and the WE. Now, I gotta hope some of that structure breaks down with use... Thanks again!

Michk, i do not owe a brief, so i cannot give you advice on how to wear it better...but to be honest..i still love how the WE looks on you most! if you only keep the bag because of the leather, i do not think you carry that much...i think you should be able to hunt down another cafe bag in the style you really love?
Muggles, thank you so much! COL, many gorgeous one pieces there! i love your 1st long top with the caramel work most!!! ![]() i wish my sapphire work can be as soft as your caramel soon! |

wingit : thanks, the box is cute, it fits as comfortably as the twiggy on the shoulder. it's shorter than the twiggy and has a longer strap. it's one of my smallest bags along with the lilac first. i use these little bags less than my pts / twiggies/ works/ brief.
one little bow.: thank you, i love the work with ggh, the work style is holding a lot, love it. spylove22 : thank you dear, it's summer time here and i am in love with sanguine, such a wonderful red. michK : try stuffing the café brief, you'll find the shape less flat. if you still don't love it, maybe you should go for a gh brief, i find the leather of the brief thicker on the gh bags. i tried many rh on before and didn't love it, but not long ago, i tried on a black gsh brief at the galeries and found this style stunning with gsh. i see gorgeous briefs with gh on rdc, café gsh, vt gsh. all with thick and gorgeous leather like my plomb. |

MichK, now you can't say that you're not tinier than me! Ok, the brief does look a bit wide like the others say. It's the structured bottom which holds the shape of the bag rather than allowing it to slouch like the WE. But I love my Mogano so much that I actually love that effect, if that makes sense. And delmilano is right, when I carry more stuff, it's more slouchy.

Mich, I just took a look at your modeling photos again after seeing saff with her lovely mogano (which doesn't overwhelm her petite frame at all - love it saff!). The sides of the brief can either fold inward or puff outward. I keep mine folded inward so it doesn't look so round on the sides (I attribute the shape to an hourglass figure!). I assume your brief, even though it's RH, has the same seam down the sides that mine does, where you can fold the leather along the seam to face in versus out.
My brief is 14"H x 17"L. What are the measurements of yours? I am wondering if you could have a different style that resembles the brief. What's that other one? The RTT?? |

And I agree with roey, Saff - the Brief looks a million times better on you! It looks like it was made for you! And that Mogano leather is looking so thick and smooshy. I need to figure out how to look like you with the Brief! Delmilano - that's a very good suggestion. I agree with you that the leather on GH bags is thicker and chewier. A GH Brief would probably slouch better and look smaller on me. I'm just not very sure about GH (worried it might be too flashy)...but I think I ought to try one out. Thanks! |
