Question Looking for Feedback - '08 Turq Leather

Hi - for those of you who own this color, what is your take on the leather? I've seen very even color, not real deep saturation (almost like a painted faux finish), and the leather seems stiff and very thick??? Not good or bad - just different. Anybody broken one in yet? I am anxiously waiting on a Money Wallet and Turq Work RH

Thank you!!! bt

i've seen a couple IRL... i only touched the part-time i saw, though. it was ok leather... just like you said not really good or bad, but one of the better o8's i've felt. the one i touched had sorta soft leather that was very smooth - not really any distressing. i remember the other turq's i saw all had smooth leather too, but i didnt touch them.

my mom has an o8 that is sooo thick and wasnt very soft when it first arrived. it's still thick and appears smooshier than it feels - the 'gloss' hasnt worn off yet, which surprises me since it's a couple months old now. the turq i felt def. felt better than her bag - so i think it would break in nicely.

whoa.. i ramble!

I have a makeup and the saturation and brightness is great. It's thick and smooth and soft, I'm actually very fond of it. I'm sure your Work will break in amazingly!

The leather for the '08 Turq, Red and Yellow have been beautiful in all the stores I've seen them in.

It's the pinks that have been veiny and hide-like

Not sure about 08 Turq, but the only good 08 leather I have seen is Bubblegum. A little disappointing. 08 seems more inconsistent than late 07. Hmmm

I guess it all depends on what qualities you're looking for. I returned my Turq Giant PT because I was disappointed with the leather, but that's because I like super soft, pliable and smooshy leather with a lot of distressing. If that's what you're looking for, Turq will not deliver. But if you like thick, sturdy (almost stiff) feeling, smooth, undistressed leather, then you'll be very happy with Turq.

I also agree with your very apt observation about the painted faux finish on Turq. It's a gorgeous, vibrant color (actually why I broke down and bought my Turq in the first place... the color melted my heart), but it also looks like that gorgeous color is a diluted version (with faux finishing glaze mixed in) that floats on top of the leather, rather than penetrates all the way through. Of course you'll find exceptions to this, but all the Turq and Bouton D'ors I've seen can be described this way. I too am curious to see how they will break in. I remember much of 06 leather were thin and crinkly when they first came out, but those same leathers have since "plumped" and softened over time.

My Turq. RH Work color is very saturated. Its leather is just like Decophile described, thick, sturdy (brand new, wasn't broken in yet) and smooth. I believe its leather will be softer once it is broken in. I have touched several 2008 bags and I like my Turq. Work leather the best. It sure is not vieny or dry as others. I cannot wait to break it. I have to say, the 08 Turq. is a very "happy" color. I love my Turq. RH Work!
