I am thinking of buying a bag that I can bring along with me when I travel (as a carry on luggage sort of bag). I have always liked the Part Time but compared to the Pom Pon, it seems to be able to fit in less stuff. So I decided on the Pom Pon. But I have seen threads saying that it's too heavy.
So now I am back to debating between a PT or Pom Pon. Any suggestions ladies? Can anyone tell me approximately how heavy is the Pom Pon compared to PT? Thanks! |

I have one myself (my fav balstyle atm) and it fits alot inside ![]() sorry cannot give you comparison weight of the two, but I have to say my GGH PT is defintley on the heavier side (nearly borderline too heavy for me) but I just looove the look! |

The RH Pompon weighs about as much as the RH PT... so I don't think the weight will be an issue.
The PT does hold less than the Pompon (which can take a lot of stuff) but the Pompon has an open, drawstring top which some don't like for travel. If you're looking for a travel bag, I would suggest the Courier - holds as much as the Pompon but has a zip top and is soft and smooshy. |

I've not had either styles, but it seems that people tend to buy the pom pom then sell it on, i think the courier would be good too, i don't think the PT would be a great travelling bag IMO

Pinkisweets, MichK, ladyisobel, thanks so much for your suggestions! I just need something to fit my 10" laptop, a jacket, wallet (coin purse), two mobile phones and assorted cosmetic stuff that I just throw into my bag, all without bursting the bag. Gotta leave some free space for unexpected purchases.
![]() I have considered the Courier, Hobo and Messenger but they don't really appeal to me, IMHO. The reason why I can't ignore the PT is because I love the style! But the Pom Pon has so much more space!

I just acquired my dream PT and I've used it only a handful of times, but it was one of those bags I just knew I would love. And I do love it.
I am now considering a Pom Pon for my next bag. I don't have this style, but I love the look of it in certain pics. I went from hating this style to now obsessing over it! It does look like it would be a great travel bag too. It looks like the Pom would be easier to put over your shoulders b/c the middle may slouch a bit more? Making it more convenient for travel? Experts chime in...just my thoughts. |

Definitely PT. I think it's more versatile than pompom.

I vote for the PT. The drawstring of the PomPon makes it a little more difficult to get into.

mochiblure, you read my mind! I was worried about accessing my stuff in a Pom Pon. Considering how many junk I throw into my bag, it would be frustrating for me to search for something inside. Thanks for your help!
Seems like PT is a favorite amongst TPFers.

here is my PT stuffed with a netbook, hardcover book, long wallet, hard case sunnies, fleece jacket, reading glasses, cell phone and there is still a bit of room to spare.
I will post a pic with everything out of it so you can see the actual sizes.

![]() as you can see it is an amazing bag. Wow, now I'm even impressed with what it can carry. I can also use the shoulder strap with all that stuff and it's pretty comfy still. |
