I have a Ruby as well (City) and I think in general the Ruby leather will break in nicely. I have only been using mine daily for slightly less than a week and she's already starting to slouch a little. The Work will slouch alot more and look smaller when fully broken in :) A keeper for sure!

Demi - I have a Nikon Coolpix 4800. The lighting was indoors near a skylight but not right underneath the skylight in the direct sunbeam. When I took her outside in the bright sun there is the slightest hint of a pink undertone.

The color is so vivid that I made her my avatar. That may convince me to let her stay for awhile!

Thanks to everyone for your replies so far. Love the encouragement!

... your Ruby is gorgeous too! I'd keep her but if you really think she's too overwelming.. you could try the part time.. for me, it's perfect!

Yes, ruby is really a beautiful color and once broken in the leather will be more ...wearable. But if you don't think it's a keeper, why don't you go and try a city? I think you could also return it and take a city instead.
You have to be 200% happy with your purchase. Meanwhile, enjoy this gorgeous Work!

Congrats, she's gorgeous and looks great on you. Yes, she will shrink but I agree with Babi, if she feels too large for you try to exchange for a part time or a city. I love the part time but in proportions the city is closer to the work (just smaller).

And yes, you do have GREAT legs! They look like an athlete's legs. I'm envious ...

It looks fabulous!!! I love it. However, I see what you mean about the overwhelming size. It does look big on you. If you wanted a smaller size, what about the city?

I had a black city and while it was a great size, there were times I needed to carry more and it didn't perform, which is why the p/t seems like the better choice.

Every ruby I have seen on the forum so far looks really nice in terms of richness/color but most of them are in larger sizes. I have heard there are some really dull ones in stores that almost look pink. What I am really waiting for is someone to post a sgh ruby work! I'm curious how the color saturation and leather will look with gh.

please keep it!! i'm so tempted by the ruby work myself but i've made several big purchases recently so i have to curb myself. :( the work actually becomes the right size after a while! i've always thought the PT looks better with GH so maybe can try that instead?
