can I share my review for 08 saphire day? :)

Hi ladies this is my first time posting at the Balenciaga forum! :) I want to thank you for all the helpful knowledge that you share on this forum!!

I have been a fan for Balenciaga for a few years and just recently fell in love with it all over again. I had thought about getting a city or day bag in purple color to add to my collection, but was bummed that I had missed out on the 07 Violet. I was so excited to find out and read about some of your purchases of 08 saphire looking really gorgeous so I ended up getting one on eBay (don't worry, I did my research here and it's an authentic seller.

and it was indeed authentic!)...a saphire day!

Sorry I don't have any photos to share at this moment but it looks just like some of the saphire day photos that have been posted here. It's a rich shade of purple and the leather is thick. It is not as soft as some of you has described but I am sure that after it has been broken in it should be better. I am not concerned about the "stiffness" of the leather, however, because it actually make it feel more durable and can take up a lot more beating, LOL!

Overall I'm just really pleased with it. Day is my favorite style and I love love love the purple! If there is one thing that might have been a little disappointing...I remember when I first purchased my 04 black First, when I pull it out of the box the leather smelled SO GOOD and so yummy, I couldn't stop sniffing at it whenever I used it (of course it's gone now after so many years) but the saphire day doesn't have any of that...it has some funky smell that I suppose coming from the leather treatment (aniline or something) but gosh I miss that...

First of all, congratulations on your new sapphire day!!! Thank you for sharing your feeling with us and welcome back to Bbags again! I love to sniff my bags as well, I don't own any of those HG oldies, they must smell great. But I always sniff my EB city, and my other bags don't smell as good as it. So I know exactly how you feel!!! But sapphire is such a beautiful color, enjoy it!!!

Many tPFers reported the new 08 F/W Bal smells like plstic. You may have also noticed it doesn't come with extra tassels. It might be Bal's leather treatment has changed so caused the smelling changed. That is very disappointing IMO.
