my French Blue has not faded or gone yellow, she has darkened a bit maybe, but its not a light color as maledives or sky blue.
I saw some sky blue and turq 08 that yellowed badly :/

i had a sky blue city purchased on ebay and the color just did not grow on me at all. in fact, i disliked the blue more and more and truth be told, i swear it yellowed within the 2 weeks that i owned it!

I have owned Vert Deau and Seafoam. Both very lovely colors and I would recommend getting Maldives just to have it!

The lighter blues have yellowed, though very slightly overtime. When I get my VD it was brand new, and it maybe yellowed only 2%. I could only tell b/c the mirror which I never used was a shade darker after a year or two. But I didn't mind.

The Seafoam was already 4 years old when I bought her, though she was in like-new condition. She had yellowed maybe 30% but very evenly so again, I didn't mind.

It seems that the 09 leathers are with a different type of dye (and a different leather) than the older ones and I wouldn't worry about it fading for this reason. Don't they seem sturdier for some reason? I can't explain it... but they feel like the top coat that gives the shine is different. Like it would hold the color better, like the leather is less porous for 2009.

KWIM?

edit - I have heard of Cornflower fading and Sky Blue too. But I think the issue is different with the "greener" blues, not the "blue" blues since my 08 Turquoise REALLY faded after little use.

I have a maldives compagnon and I adore it. The color is TDF. I agree w/ Rere as that it seems the newer 09' bags are more sturdier and possibly have a glaze on it to protect it from fading. Having said this, I have also noticed the corners of my mandarin begining to rub a bit even though the bag is seriously new. The older bags did not do this as I have had 2005, 2006 and 2007.

I had a faded electric blue. Couldn't bear to watch it fade anymore so I sold it.

I have an ink city and it has faded somewhat especially the front top part. It s faded to a greyish blue at the top . So sad!

I'm a little blue-obsessed - my SB has definitely yellowed but I still love her. French Blue, EB, and Ocean are still true to their colors though!

This question's been asked earlier about Maldives fading - but Maldives has now been out for a few months. Enough time to tell if it going to be one of the colours that fades abnormally fast.

Is there anyone who bought a Maldives bag very early, and has seen it start to fade already?

I bought my Maldives bag as soon as it became available, and I haven't seen any discoloration or fading at all. I live in a sunny climate and I've used it all summer with sun beating on it, and still no discoloration. I've been very pleased since the color is so breathtaking.

ALL my bbags faded a little over the time....when you compare the inside of the front pocket to the rest of the bag. i dont believe the one i have/had were just that bad. they all fade...
