Black Bals -- how much variation for 2006?

Hi everyone,

I took a look at the Reference Library, particularly the color reference, and I'm unable to ask a question at that forum cuz it's pictures only.

Photos/flash-photos tend to skew the colors of a Bal, hence my question:

For 2006 -- were the blacks varied? Did they range from a dark charcoal to a saturated jet black? Or were they pretty consistent?

Thanks in advance

(If you have two blacks from diff't seasons, and can point out the difference to me, in flash and without-flash photos, that would be EXTREMELY helpful.

I have a Fall 2006 black work; it's definitely not jet black. The edges are slightly faded and show it's green undertones.

i don't know..my 06 black city was pretty black..not SUPER JET BLACK like my 03 and 05 had been..but it was pretty close..
i also had at one point int time, an 06 black work but i got it heavily used so it was not super jet black it was sort of a little faded?
here is a pic of my 06 city i'm still sad i let her go..and for such a low price too! =(

i take that back, that 06 SS black work i had wasn't really faded..
i'm borrowing rdc's pic she took of mine when i traded her for something else..sometimes i kick myself!

i know! it was when i first started collecting bbags and didn't realize THIS is what i should have been looking for hahaha...i am an idiot..and i should have kept it! =(

OP, we all debate back and forth on generalizations of the blacks from various seasons of various years, but i really believe that despite all that, a RH black city just needs to be picked out in person. there are great and terrible specimens from each season, 05 and prior not withstanding.

Got it. . . that's the conclusion I'm drawing as well. Thanks for your responses, and it was GREAT looking at the pictures (as always).

I guess that I struck unlucky with a black 2006 Twiggy, since Balenciaga, Paris confirmed that mine was a faulty bag, having turned green and refunded me my money. I have since bought a wonderful 2007 black City and have had no problems. As early posts say there is always an element of good and poor within each season and so it's much better to be able to pick something out in person.

There is some variation, but for the most part the black bbags from 06 were pretty nice. I've owned two 06 black cities and an 06 black first, all with great leather and all jet black. Here's the 06 black city I currently have:
