Hey Ate! We have the same clutch! BUT! Mine is a tad bit blacker, its not as grey. When I got my first BBag it was a Black RH Work from s/s 08. It wasnt black at all, it was like a dark gunmetal, it was definately not light like Plomb though. I've heard 08 blacks in general have been ehh. All pretty much arent a jet black its like a lighter black.

Hello Ading ~ yay, we have the same clutch, cool! I wanted to get the envelope too but I think this one is a tad more roomy and I like the strap. Oh well, I did want it really really black ~ but this is okay for now, at least the leather is nice and thick.

i think it matters less whether this is really black or not -- if you don't like it, you need another one. that's the thing about bbags -- theere is such a variety that even blacks bags are not all the same color. i have been searching for a black black bag that is uniformly black (all the ones i have seen have greyish areas).

I have a black day and it definitely is a lighter black, but I actually like that because it's different than the other black bags I have. But it definitely gives it a more distressed, casual look.

I think that Bal black varies quite a lot, including some slighly grey or greenish blacks. I think this is black. It is subtle and very nice.

My 08 black step was this way too. Definitely in the black family but not a jet black. The color is pretty though:)

That is the exact problem I'm having with locating a black ggh clutch, the blacks are not black enough (if that is in fact black). I think that it looks anthra to me, the zipper tape looks to be grey and not black and my black bags have black zipper tapes.

The leather looks TDF, really smooshy and thick. I think if, as you say, you don't compare it to your other black bags, you'll totally love it.
