Amethyst TDF?
After days of obsessing over this color, DH tells me to forget about both the First and City as I have access to both. He says he is not crazy about the color and is likely too juvenile for me (I am 28.) He thinks it was a whimmy purchase as I saw LC on the Hills wearing it. He says I should keep my money and focus on my other bags...per my wishlist, the biggest being the Chanel.
Any advice ladies...I feel like I am beating a dead horse at this point. |

What?! I love amethyst and couldn't get enough of them. I'm only slightly older than you. Yeah sure I want to get a Chanel so badly, but as they keep increasing their prices, it seems more and more impossible to get them.
I would at least keep one piece of amethyst. BTW the amethyst first does look good on you. |

Thanks!...DH is now re-negging on his words...he says he feels bad that he offended me as I liked the color. He also told me to just keep the first and not worry about the city.

LOL I would tell your DH not to worry about the colour as he does not have to carry it!!! If you love it then nothing else should matter. I'm 28 as well, and i looove amethyst!

I'm 52 and carrying the amethyst work - and loving every minute of it. You are a youngster, and no color is ever too old for you - unless it is neon pink, neon green, or in the neon family - JMHO! I am sure you rock that bag!

I'm sorry and I am sure that lots of people will be very cross with what I am going to say.
I am 45 and I think that Chanel bags will be more suitable for you when you are a bit older (70 years and above). Stick with Balenciaga. |

My DH pretty much hates all Balenciaga bags, but I don't listen to him. He isn't the one carrying it, I am. Most men just don't understand handbags period.
I think amethyst is an awesome color and I'd carry an amethyst bag in a heartbeat. |

I do think amethyst is TDF, and that's because magenta is one of my favorite colors...I myself would go for it, you are definitely not too old to flaunt a bold beautiful color!

Amethyst is not a too old/young colour, it's more a matter of, does it match your wardrobe?
Anyway, I am the same age as you too and owe an amethyst part-time and wild horses could make me part from it!

Hahaha! I couldn't agree more! I love Bals (I have 17) and have only 1 Chanel, mainly because they all look like my grandma's bags. I have a 24 year old granddaughter, so you can guess how old I am!

Haha...I think I have finally come to the realization that I won't be dealing with a Chanel...I don't think I am the type of person to ever use a 2K+ bag for fear of getting it scratched...SOOO...I have made a decision - I will keep the Amethyst First and go for a City in another color - Black or something dark in an upcoming season..Thanks everyone!
