I don't get the impression that Sacoche Bahrain had set itself up to do as booming a mail order business as they have been getting from TPFers since they first hit the Bal mail order scene last fall. I had a great experience with them but I know there have been some hiccups. There are time and language differences. As well, I expect many credit cards don't go through the first time. I know mine didn't until I spoke to a Visa rep giving them authorization - the card company was just a bit leery about putting through a $1,000 transaction from a store on the other side of the world. People who like getting the kind of deals they offer should cut them a little slack. People who are put off should probably not deal with them. Personally, I love getting a good deal.

I don't know. I'm not terribly phased by all the problems TBH but I am pretty chilled. I've had some terrible hair raising bag purchase experiences so it takes a lot to phase me now. Having said that I would be extremely upset about the cc information - that is why I have a second cc with a low credit limit for these sort of transactions.

Other things you might put down to timezones, communication/language barriers and the sales rush etc but cc information is a bit harder to excuse.

Personally though I have found Merlyn very polite (even when my cc bounced the first time ) and we have been in reasonably reliable regular communication. I'm not concerned about anything to date because I had a heads up on what to expect from tpf

Its a cost benefit thing - so long as the bag is fabulous it will be worth the savings to me of around $500!
Congrats!! It's totally worth it, I love that it comes fairly quickly, and no customs fees! I totally wanted a tempete day, but settled on a black one earlier this week.

Some tracking numbers are recycled... so that might be the case for your number? That is my guess.

JCJ - I'm sure the bag will be fab. I got a raisin city early in the season from Erica but when I started seeing tempete on the forum I knew I had to have it as well Good to know the numbers are recycled in the sense I know it is not something to fret about .

Skddari - I also asked for Merlyn to check the tracking number 2 days ago but I've not heard anything back. This is purely a factual statement.

I'm sure the bag will arrive next week and I'll be drooling over it . And as northern dancer says it such a great deal and it really hasn't caused me any grey hairs The truth is I have been carefully studying awbrat's latest stocklist to see what else I might like - but can't afford! I can't believe they still have an anthra city?!?!?!?!

Hi everyone, Hi Tooomz,

Did anyone get their packages yet?
Just got my first email from M and sent 4 pic .... i don't know, leather looks a little off.
Check for yourselves and let me know.

1. first pic is raisin, lighting makes it look different.
2, 3,4, leather isn't looking like B leather .... more like a fake - esp #3 and #4.

Tooomz PM me pls. Thanks

The lighting in these photos does look a little off but implying that Sacoche Bahrain is selling fakes is kind of like suggesting Bal NY is selling fakes. I mean, they just don't. I suppose stranger things have happened but, if you have doubts, I would suggest you ask for additional photos, i.e. the bales, the tags etc. I know they are not perfect, but I am quite certain they don't sell fakes. Personally, I wouldn't want TPF to embark on a witch hunt that would piss them off enough that they decide not to do international online sales. (I love the deals.)

Agreed. Couldn't have said it any better. Sacoche is trustworthy, many tpfers have had good shopping experiences.

Ditto - please don't piss them off! I fully intend to buy from them again and my first purchase hasn't even arrived .

Merlyn is very sweet and polite. I guess it is important to remember we aren't the only customers they are serving and the timezones do create perceived delays.

I find the shopping experience no worse then trying to deal with many American dept stores when attempting to arrange an international purchase.

Thanks everyone for calming my fears .... collecting is my passion.
I did send another email before I posted the pic, will wait for more pic.
Perhaps, it is because they are not perfect which maybe why it is reflected in the prices - for that reason, I can accept and rationalize.
Maybe, I will enlist a friend to pay the store a visit, it's a little faster since they are very busy.
How many have you collected from them?
Can you post pic, thanks
