I have a friend in Houston, and just wondering if anybody knows if there is anything juicy in-store at the moment?

They arent really clued into the Balenciaga thing, but if i could point them towards something specific they would pick it up for me and bring back to Australia ... Thanks so much,

OK, so I went there this morning, first day off & now on my vacation!

This is what I saw.

Sapphire Pom, City, and First. I am pretty sure all had the leather covered hardware (I'm personally on the fence about that since I have seen it in real life now, I'm sure some will just love it though.)
The leather covered hardware seems to also have the perforated design on the bag, so if you like that....

Amethyst City and First, I'm pretty sure those were leather covered hardware, but might be wrong.

Some Pine Green color, City and First. (*Is that out yet??? If not, then it was some kind of dark green, certainly not Vert Gazon though)

There was one Black Cherry City bag, it had regular hardware. The SA ventured to tell me that this color is selling out, that's why there was only one bag left in that color....

I saw what looked like a Black Cherry Weekender in the locked case, too, regular hardware and tassels.

There was a Black Part Time with Giant Silver Hardware, in the case.

There was a pretty good assortment of make-ups, I think I saw an amethyst, a sky blue, a bouton, and one other, ackkkkk, I can't remember the color!

There were some small little bags that looked like little tiny firsts, they were cute, all different colors, I don't know what they are called, sorry. There were 4, and I can't remember the colors, just that they looked cute stacked in a row like they had them.

There were several Briefs. There was a Sky Blue with Giant Gold Hardware/ some kind of Brown (*maybe the new Saddle?) with Giant Gold Hardware.
There was a Black with Giant Silver Hardware, and let me tell you, ladies

THAT ONE CAME HOME WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!
I can't even begin to describe the leather, right now I'm speechless all right? And what's crazy is: It's a 2007 CHEVRE!!!!!
(This must be the "Good leather" everyone is always talking about. Well, 5th time's the charm I guess ~ I have NEVER, and I mean NEVER, felt leather like this in my life totally mouth watering)

Anyway, after the SA put that one in my arms, it was all over, and I quit looking.

Oh, I "forced" myself to check out the Prada and the Tod's since I was there anyway, and I skimmed past the MiuMiu and the Chloe, but I had already made up my mind.

So anyway, they had a pretty good selection of bbags, minus one GSH Black Brief now!

If you wanted your friend to stop by and see the bags, be VERY SURE that you WANT IT, because retail here is killer......

As a PS: The YSL store (NOT in NM, but in the mall next door) had a sale table, with a pretty good assortment. I saw 2 nice Downtown black leather bags (soft leather!) marked down, one to 795 or so, and one 890 or so. There were some Tributes, I think a small gold Majorelle....among others. On the side wall they also had some sale bags, among them the mint green and bouganville patent tributes, and a nice matte black leather one as well.

And the Barney's store had some gorgy Marc Jacobs bags, NICE new purple Dr Q........... among others. Great SA's in that store, BTW. If you go, tell them Mary sent you (tell them I'm the woman who felt she was "too old" to wear the Seven jeans ON SALE FOR A GREAT DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Oh my god Mary thanks so much for that detailed run down, i feel terrible though cause my friend left today so i missed out - sorry i should have put something on the thread! your bag sounds amazing and i would love to see a pic if you get a chance. post one!

funny, cause i have been off marc by marc bags for a while, but am LOVING that new purple Dr Q style. its sold out at a lot of places, so this is a good tip cause i can always ring Barneys and get them to send!

Hi Hayley, well, I am sorry it's too late too, but you know? The newer bags all did seem to have rather stiff leather, so anyway, maybe a lot to pay if you didn't like, anyway.

To tell the truth, if I had to pick a purple bag from those I looked at yesterday, at THAT mall and on THAT day, I would have really picked the Dr Q. Great soft leather, nice size (I have an older one in black that I love!) And, as a further recommendation, I already have a GORGEOUS new '08 Sapphire Work bag, so didn't even need another purple bag! Anyhow, I had totally convinced myself that I was going to go back and get it, just wanted to see the bbags first though. After that, it was all over.

The SA at Barney's was willing to hold the Dr Q for me, but gave me a knowing wink as I was leaving the store saying "I'm pretty sure you'll find something at Neiman's!" She loves bags, too.
