Different bag in different leather, 2 or 3 sizes, different top closure, etc.

NM is calling these bags traveler duffels or something, according to another poster. I saw the NM order book for my local one the other day, and they are calling the Mid Day just that, and it's the bag we've been expecting, with giant HW, made of agneau.

I just saw the black Mid Day in person, just out of the box at NM. I was relieved -- I love it. I was really tempted by the black, because it had gorgeous dark black, smooth leather, but I have to keep waiting for the color I planned on. Anyway, the bag did go easily on my shoulder, so it can be carried there as necessary. I really like the style. It has a dual zipper top opening, sort of recessed. Different and easy to get into the bag. If you see it sitting on a shelf stuffed, it becomes more obvious how it differs from the city, and how it is bigger. It is not in the family of rectangular traditional bags, like the City, Work and WE. More in the line of more rounded, softened bags like the Brief/Step/RTT. It won't be for everyone, but I give it a definite

Rollergirl- thanks so much for the added info. I an relieved to hear that the black had good leather. I should have mine on Wed. What color are you waiting on? I really thought about the Marine/Midnight but this is a pretty spendy bag for me, and I do need a black- so I am trying to go with classic black since I feel I will really get my moneys worth. Can you tell I am trying to make myself better that I didn't get the Marine. Thanks again- I hope Wed. gets hear fast

Does anyone know if it's heavier or lighter than the City SGH? I love this new style, just wondering if it's like a Paddington weight wise....
Thx

I have both and I think the City CGH is LIGHTER than the City SGH. I will try to weigh mine and then report back LOL!

As a vet of about 10 Paddies, I think it is NOT as heavy. I mean, is anything??? Kidding aside, the MD is maybe a little bit heavier than a city with GH, maybe between that weight and that of a GH Work.

Edit to Note: Some are saying this isn't the Midday?

Yup, this is a similar looking bag, but it isn't just a regular HW version of the Mid Day. Both are new, so it's pretty confusing. The Mid Day is in one size only (in between a city and a work), made of agneau, only comes in giant hardware, has a dual zipper pull top. This other classic HW bag is a sort of unisex bag, for men and women, that comes in 2 or 3 sizes, is made of a totally different leather (we've heard camel, which has been used in Balenciaga bags in the past), seems to have an even shorter handle, a different top opening, and comes in different colors than the current season motorcycle bags. It's a bowler, according to some stores, or a duffel (NM). It seems like a good option if you like the general style of the MD but not giant HW.
