Thanks verty - it's breaking in very nicely :) Are you concerned about yellowing/fading at all, since that sometimes happens w/the lighter colors?

Thanks marie

fiatflux - thanks :) Um, which colors have been known to yellow? Is it pretty much just Pale Pink & Ice Blue? Honestly, I'm not *too* concerned just b/c Vert D'eau is really not *that* light in person... I know it always looks really pale in pictures, but it's really not as pale as pictures depict.. well.. mine isn't at least - I may have gotten one w.darker leather As far as fading.. meh, if it fades a little it'll probably just look like my profile pic <--- in real life, which would be OK with me

Oh, verty, your baby is beautiful!!!

You know, I never really gave Vert D'eaus a chance...well, until of course I saw yours! It looks so yummy like mint choc.ice cream

fiatflux: I know a lot of us hate yellowing/fading, but I personally like yellowing on like colors as it gives the *vintage*look to the bag. I have 05 sky blue duffle bag(non-moto syle with two buckles running down on the body), and I actually really like how the color faded to light greenish/yellowish color

thank-you, glimmer

tooshies - thanks! you got it right - IRL it def. looks very mint ice-cream do you think maybe the yellowing on bags that aren't *very* light (i.e. your sky blue) looks good b/c it's not such a light color? cause i dont mind the fading/yellowing of sky blue, but ice blue & pale pink bother me.

I wonder if this color will be appreciated more in years to come than it is now. It seems like there was a lot of excitement about this color before it came out, then after it came out it was quickly eclipsed by vert gazon and aqua.... I think part of it was that people were thinking it might be a seafoam substitute, and it really doesn't look as much like seafoam as they were hoping.

I haven't seen much of it on this forum. Is there anyone who has it in Part Time regular or giant hardware?

verty, you're totally right. Come to think of it, I didn't like yellowing/fading in Ice Blue/Pale Pink in pics...though I've never seen it IRL. Given that your Vert D'eaus isn't that *light*, I think it'll look great even after yellowing/fading. It'll add vintagey look to it I'd LOOOVE to see your bag in say, 6 months or even a year from now....I bet it'll be fabulously broken in

^^I think it will age well, too - which is why I started this thread (but I guess it is too early to expect very many examples). Verty - I like the look of yours so far...makes me pretty optimistic about the possibilities!!

Here's my very loved Vert D'eau City.. I use him (yes, it's a he!) at least three times a week and i've had him for maybe three months now?

So hard to get a good picture color-wise of this bag.. it's not as light as it seems in this pic..

outside w/o flash

inside w/ flash

Hope these help.. I'm still surprized there wasn't more interest in this color!

looks like a gorgeous bag. i too am worried about yellowing though. not sure if i'm imagining it, but it looks to me like there is some slight discolouration near the top in this photo? or maybe it's just general wear from lots of use? in which case - nothing wrong with that - i prefer bags looking worn in as opposed to pristine and hiding in the closet!!

evil, i see what you mean about the picture.. however in person i cannot see any discoloration.. i think it's just my very bright/slightly yellowy kitchen light *shrugs* With time, i can see this colour yellowing a little bit, but definitely no where near as bad as the pale pink/baby blue bbags.

Another question regarding the handles'.. I'm considering this color, but I am afraid the handles will darken pretty badly?

I know some of you never touch the handles, but I find it hard not to, especially with the first which is the one I would be getting... Hmmmm...

What do you say Sammydoll, Verty, Shasta??
