It has always had nice soft leather but it is MORE smooshy and softer...really silky....(it is hard to explain) but it did change and it is very cool. |

Yes..the newer leather definitely has a "breaking-in" period. Unfortunately, I haven't owned a newer bag long enough to see the process through

This is GREAT to know. I've been using my 07 black City for the last 2 months and it's breaking in very slowly... I might just need to put in more stuff to speed up the process!

I carried mine about 3x and noticed her becoming slouchier. The leather is very smooth and silky on the back now (still a bit crinkly & veiny on the front)... I just looooove her.

Silk is a great way to describe a broken in '07 bag! My Natural Brief started out stiffish (or as stiff as a ridiculously soft and smooshy B-bag can be!), but 2 1/2 weeks later, now when I put it down on a surface, it collapses into a silky puddle! I love it!

I think it also depends on the quality of the bbag that you have. I noticed that some are thicker and stiffer than others so the thicker ones will take a longer time to break in. I have a city that is more distressed and hasthinner leather and I get to paranoid at times that it will get easily nicked.

yes, now that the 07 bags have been around awhile,
I'm really curious about whether the shine will wear off on the 07 bags - my anthracite is like patent leather has anyone conditioned the shine off their bag, or just seen it become more matte with wear? or will 07 bags just be characterized by their shine? |

This is very interesting. Did the shine exist on the older BBags?

. However, the front is still quite shiney. I was going to order LMB's pre-treament (as the Handles Only made my handles matte immediately!), but I've read some bad things on here :(

I don't like the glazed look of new bbags at all - when I get a brand new one I'm a little hard on it at first, until at least it's not like I'm carrying a square briefcase around! It's just like when you buy converse chuck's, they are just cooler after a bit of wear.
I never moisturise a bag immediately. I think that it's best to moisturise it after the glazy coat has rubbed off. This way it's easier to work with the leather. |

I kind of like the shine, though. Guess I'm in the minority
. I wonder if there are ways to prevent the "breaking-in" process for those who for one reason or another like the shininess?

^Spiral...I just started using LMB's Silk Serum which restored the shine on my Blueberry...and the result has been nothing short of amazing.
