Pics of FW 08 Changes: mirror, silver tag, anything else?

Due to being on a ban for the past year and sort of generally cooling off on Balenciaga, I haven't visited this subforum much at all but when I saw this thread I had to read it. Wow! I can't believe all the negative changes from Bal! WTF. Makes me glad that I'm no longer jonesing for these babies. Now I can appreciate my oldie but goodie collection even more.

I would be sad too! I love the tassels so much that I want to put them on my giant hardware bags too!

They're going to be bombarded with requests for extra tassels because tassels break off, split, all the time and then what are you gonna do!

Yuk if that happens, I will not be buying anymore. I love the RH size. Don't like the covered, they look like plastic and the GH is gaudy. That is just me.

i'm wondering if you ladies noticed the difference in the handles between the 07 (chevre) and 08 (agneau) pts. i have a 07 black ggh pt which i have carried for about 6 months at least 4x a week if not more. the handles feels a lot stiffer than the new pt handles made of agneau leather. as i examine the handles, i noticed that the material underneath inside the leather handles(maybe foamy material) on my 08 charcoal sgh pt feels softer and more bendable. if it is less stiff, then it takes less time to break it in....but then again that means it will break in much faster than the 07s...(not sure if its a good thing)?!?!

i'm not too sure how i feel about some of the changes that balny have made....this is one that doesn't fly well with me. the first day i carried my charcoal pt, i noticed the difference. i had to make sure i didn't put too much weight on the bag....which makes me the pt is one size i carry regularly...now i feel i have to be extra careful which doesn't make sense....i don't baby my bags but then i don't want to beat my bag up either

Oh my...this is another about F/W 08 bbags...I also read that the lacing on the handles are thinner..? Is it true? I agree with you, these changes are making me love Bals less I guess better stick to oldies...

the threading on the GH seem to be the same....but i did notice a slight difference on the RH work bags, where there is less threads onthe laces....i think there's also a post somewhere in here about the handles....

Sadly, it seems that Balenciaga is a victim of their own success ... in that they are trying to produce all these bags at a lesser cost (to them). However, in doing so, they are also losing customers ... especially those of us who have bags from the *glory days* (earlier years).

I used to buy quite a few bags from each year/season, now I find myself buying SIGNIFICANTLY less because the bag doesn't meet my "standards" (especially in the leather department). Here it is mid-year, and I've bought only 2 bags ... the '08 Coral City w/ GGH and the '08 Anthracite "Pom-Pom" w/ GGH. While I would still like to get the '08 Bouton D'or, I still HAVE NOT found one that meets my standards.

So ... bottom line, what does this mean ... I'm now buying other lines (Givenchy, Marni, Chanel) whereas before ... I was a 100% Bal-gal. THEIR LOSS!!

i don't mind the pocket being gone either. the other changes are a different story.

ITA. I haven't bought a single 08 item, even from the S/S season, because the bags just don't wow me anymore. Now I find myself looking through the forums that I left Bal for......LV and MJ.
