Yes, I agree with you guys normally on "vague" color listings, but the seller was a reputable watch seller so I knew that they wouldn't scam me if I didn't like what I received (plus they had a return policy).

Regarding the older models having no leather inside the front pocket - this is good to know. However the tags that go with this bag say 2006. (I forgot to post the photo of the tag that came with the bag - the edges of the tag were perforated)

I'm still just so very fascinated by how they match the Lampo zipper!! I mean, some parts are spot on and some parts are off. What, do people SMUGGLE hardware from the Bal factory or something???

P.S. the original owner of the bag (not the seller) swears they purchased it from Neiman and is fishing the receipt... (btw, this is consistent with sociological studies of behavior of ppl who get caught with a fake... they swear it's real or they bought it at a reputable store)

I've read somewhere long time ago about the zippers. Lampo is a zipper manufacturer. Bal and many other brands buy zip from them. Those fakers can also buy a "real" Lampo zip and put it on their bags. So, actually, the zipper's not really a 100% sure indicator.

At first, when I saw your bag, I thought it maybe one of those oldies with the leather inside the zippy bag missing.

But wow!!! That Bal name tag's really a tell-all.

I'm not that good about that rounded rivet, but I can see clearly from your post now.

I hope you get your money back quickly and I really do agree this should really go to the library. It'll sure help lots of girls out there.

I agree about the handles, but I would never have caught it without the comparison pics. For heavens sake!!

Bunkie! This is so valuable. Thank you! The only worry is that the fakers are able to log on here to see how they are getting caught. At least we are now aware of this batch of Days...

This comment is so true in bags, politics and love! LOL Keep lying to save your face!
I would like to see the tag for sure. That is really creepy that they have a tag too and one that is also perforated. Your pictures are fantastic and this really should be a thread in the how to authentic bal bags. This really does tell us all to start being more careful on buying and more picture oriented on selling. I never knew that there were fake Day bag styles out there. This must be why some I have been selling, the buyers want to know if I have the receipt. I don't blame them for wanting to know that and see it. Of course, pictures tell 1000 words still. The leather on the handle looks like plastic on the fake bag also and the stitching around the rivet on the handle is sloppy and doesn't look like a real Bal.

The difference is always in the details...and it's always the very small details. Good luck getting your money back!

Conni618, that was one of my worries too, exposing all of these wonderful pics from all of us in various Reference, Club and Authenticate threads to use for their next batch of fakes... weighed against reference for those of us seeking authentics... a tough call.

umimaddicted, you're right about the love and politics!

I didn't realize that the tags actually did come perforated? I thought they didn't. Which was why it was another sign. I will have to go check...

Here's a close up where you can kind of see the "paint" peeling on the sides where there is irritation with the rivet

I wish they wouldn't make fakes! It gives the real deals a bad rap. If someone doesn't see the real thing, they would think the bag is not very pretty. Style is only 1/2 of the beauty, quality is the other 1/2.

I'm so sorry that you had to get a fake.

But the good thing is that you spotted it and can return it for a refund. Thanks for sharing this with us. I might not have realised it at all should I have bought the bag. I might have only discovered this belatedly.

Rivets are a dead give-away, but to me also the . on the front of the tag is way off.

Thanks for taking the time to take and share these comparison pictures. This is unbelievable, I wouldn't catch these defects if it weren't for your post. Many thanks...
