Photo of my new to me Holiday 05 Pewter Work! I put my pewter boobie on it - I love the look. In the front is a photo of my Holiday 04 Pewter City. Note the difference in the hardware between 04 pewter city and 05 Pewter Work.

bump... Time for an update. I just received two new Metallic items: 2007 F/W Metallic Olive Coin Purse the Limited Edition Balenciaga.com one and BalNY's 2009 S/S Limited Edition Pewter Metallic City.
Each of these pewter colored items is made of agneau (lambskin). The Holiday '04/'05 "2005 1" Pewter Makeup with pewter hardware has lilac undertones. The F/W '07 Metallic Olive Coin is definitely a pewter color with money-green hues, very hot! The SS '09 Pewter Metallic City is gorgeous, like gold and silver combined with shiny silver hardware. It appears the leather was first dyed black and then metallic, b/c it comes with a little swatch and the tassels show black along the edges. I love each of these Balenciaga Metallics!

^ Hey, "N", yep the Spring '09 Pewter City event @ BalNY was last week and I just got my box today. I was really hoping the City would match the CP, b/c I love the Metallic Olive too!
Crazy enough, this little Metallic CP is still available online (as I type this) http://www.balenciaga.com/us/en/bale...roduct-details I hope these are indications that more metallic bags are coming soon. The Limited Edition test market. I think this latest LE Metallic City is stunning and very wearable. I can hardly wait to see how it breaks in. I think the leather is first dyed black and then made metallic as the little swatch is black backed and the tassels have black edges. I wonder if it's good or bad to spray or lotion treat these metallic bags. I was hoping they would come with a care card, but mine did not. For now I am doing nothing and going with the theory, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." |
