I was carrying a bottle of water around in my B-bag and the next thing I knew the cap came off and the whole contents of the water had emptied into my bag! The bag is still soaking wet inside and out - I literally had to pour out the water like a bucket. The leather is now all wrinkled at the bottom of the bag. I have stuffed it with newspaper and left it to dry naturally. Any other tips please? Will the wrinkles stay there? Is the bag ruined?

I'm so sorry this happened. The only thing I can think of doing is letting it air dry, then once it's completely dry use a leather conditioner on it.

Yeah I will try this, thanks. It's just that the leather is so squishy, I am convinced the leather will stay all wrinkled.

After the leather dries, try "pulling it" and it should bounce right back (hopefully!!)

I did almost the exact same thing once. After I finished screaming, I propped the bag open so it would dry. Then I left it alone. It took awhile, but it did finally dry, and to be honest the leather felt quite nice! Hopefully you will have the same outcome, but with all of the leather variations...

The leather is wrinkled at first when you buy it, I bet when you use it again they'll come out just like when a bbag gets warn in. Water won't hurt it so don't worry! Mine get wet all the time, they just get softer.

Well, that's a relief to hear! Thank you all ladies. Do you think I shouldn't be stuffing it with newspaper to let it dry?

I know how you feel, i arrived at a bar, put my bag on the table, was chatting away and then i heard look out, some bloke was just staring as his fallen beer glass emptied its full contents onto my Black First and when i turned round my bag was sitting in the puddle, i managed to dry my bag with paper cloths and because its black you could see no stain mark... the beer never left a nasty smell thank god and i was left with a lovely shine! i guess i was lucky my bag did not have a bad reaction to Beer!

my friend had the same thing happen as you to her black city and she said after her bag dried she couldn't see a difference! Hopefully the same thing will happen to yours! :)

No worries....one of my Twiggy's got soaked first by a bottle of contact solution that leaked out all over the bottom of the bag, then by a container of Swiffer Floor Cleaner (don't ask) and after it air dried it was perfectly fine then too. I had treated it with leather protectant before the Swiffer nightmare happened and that saved it from being harmed, but water shouldn't be an issue at all once it's dried. I would just hang it up by the strap and let it air dry by itself.

^^^ I remember that! How scary!

honeybunch I think your bag will be a-ok - bbags are pretty tough, and a bit of water wont hurt it.

I think it will go back to normal, and may be a little softer once she dries.

Whatever you do, don't use heat of any kind. Sounds like you already know that!

Thanks! So to the people this has happened to, or had similar experiences, did your bag look really wrinkled - and I mean it's big wrinkles, not like the little wrinkles that all B-bags have - when it was wet, and did the wrinkles come out when it dried?

Well my bags has now dried out but the big wrinkles in the leather are still there at the bottom of the bag. I'm hoping that they will drop out over time.

I had a water bottle empty in my bag and I didn't realize it for a while - (!!) my camera was ruined, but my bag came out perfectly! Not water line, nothing - just like new! I am sure with time, the wrinkles will unwrinkle themselves.
