Hi Everyone,
I'm going to AG'ing this weekend. Question re. handles: do you condition handles as well as the body of the bag, or just use the spray?
Also, the spray is now non-aerosol. Still same procedure with sweeping motion?
thx!

hi, i sprayed my skyblue hobo and it's wonderful. i think you can use the conditioner to "clean" the handles before spraying.

bbagbubba, yep still use sweeping motion. becareful about conditioning which is different from the AG spray, it makes some colors change. i don't use the condition unless it really needs it. definitely use the AG spray on the handles and all over the bag. good luck and have fun AGing.

Little off-topic but does anyone know where to get AG in Toronto?

I don't know if AG is sold in Toronto but I know a lot of ladies have had no probs ordering from leatherstuff online. :)

I sprayed my Oxblood 4 times. I let it dry about an hour between coats the first 3 times and I sprayed the 4th time after letting it dry overnight(I was only going to spray it 3 times, but I saw a Bordeaux on Ebay that looked pretty discolored in some areas--handles, back of bag--from normal wear, etc...I didn't want to take any chances so I got up early and sprayed a final coat this morning). Anyhoo, I sprayed in light sweeping motions from about 6-8 inches away. I sprayed outside because of the stinky dangerous fumes and I laid the bag on a towel on a chair(in a shaded area) to dry in between coats. It's completely dry now and has returned to its orginal color. It darkened when I sprayed it, but it's so darn hot here that it dried quickly and I saw it lighten back up not too long after I sprayed it. The leather is even smooshier and softer now! It still looks all gorgeous and glistening, too. Ahhhh....

Can a bag be Apple Guarded too many times? I am just afraid to mess up my bags! Either from AG'ing too much, or too little : )

I wish you well,

Bridget

bridget, i don't think it will hurt the bag, but it would just be a waste. i think 3 times on the handles is good and atleast 2 on the body.

i put a lot of the lotion on my bags... repeatedly. just dont leave globs on it to dry, i just kept massaging it in until it wouldnt take any more... and my ink hobo looks fabulous! i think for AG the 3 -4 coats rule should be sufficeint.

bella, be careful! the brilliant, bold colors may darken. the magenta definitely darkens (happened to my friend). if you use it, test on the mirror or somewhere discrete.

Thanks, esile. What would you suggest using on a bright color??
The leather just looks like it needs conditioning. It's beautiful, just a little cracky.
Any suggestions, please.

bella, i haven't used anything on my bright bags (magenta and apple) except the AG spray. i haven't really needed to condition them. i think the AG spray sort of conditions as well... it definitely makes it softer after i use it.
