I've used Lubriderm with no problem thus far. But I have also decided not to "muck" with my bags and am trying to let them do what they will do naturally.

Default Does the leather on BBag dry up easily

I often read about the BBag being smooshy and soft but when I went to check it out in person, I found the leather acutally quite rough and also dry looking. I was wondering does this leather crack easily. Does it need to be in use to change the texture. What happens if I don't use it for awhile.

I have a gorgeous honey brown First put aside for me. I like to educate myself a bit before I decide whether or not to pick it up. TIA!

usually bbags are quite smooshy when they are new. i have seen dry bbags as well (from older seasons - new bags). i have heard some ladies use luberderm (sorry wrong spelling) to moisture their bags...i don't personally. the leather don't crack easily from my experience. but each individual bag is very unique. so when you buy a bag, pick the one you like. many ladies here also shop online and only a few have problem.
hope this helps.

I wouldn't think so. In fact, I have never seen a Bbag with "dry" leather. I have 9 now and they are fine. I don't, however, have any older bags. Mine are all new starting with 07.

I have had pre-loved bags that were a bit dry and rough to the touch and had lost their shine in some parts. I moisturized them and added a shine restore serum and it worked very well. They soak it up and feel/look much better afterwards. But I only do that when a bag needs it, which can be after the heating season (in spring) or when they're older.

south-of-france, What kind of moisturizer and shine restore serum do you use? I recently got my first city, and the bottom corner piping is very rough and dry.

If anyone else has any suggestions, please help! Thanks!

Default Need Help! Do you think moisture will help? Please share your opinions/experiences!!

Do you think that with liberal amounts of moisturizer (I typically use Apple Conditioner, followed by AG for protection) you can take a black bag from looking very faded and grey to a nice, fairly saturated black?

I received a Black SGH Brief yesterday from BalNY and, even though Kim chose the blackest one that they had, it's still just...not. It does have very nice (somewhat thick, pillowy and distressed) but also very dry leather. I would love it keep it if I knew that moisturizing would help the color, but I'm scared to try it because then I'll be stuck with it even if it doesn't make much of a difference and I know I won't be happy with this faded, greyish black .

(Sorry, hmwe46, I know this will probably have to be merged into the moisturizing thread , but I've read through a lot of it and didn't see this specific issue addressed and my search button disappeared.)

I took some photos last night, attempting to capture the color, leather and texture. Any opinions or similar experiences would be very much appreciated!!

Recently I bought a black city that was looking very much like yours. I tried to use Apple care on it but it did nothing but make it a little bit softer. But then again I wouldn't describe mine as dry just very distressed. IMO you should send it back if you don't like it as it is now.
