Mods, thanks for moving this thread. Sorry for posting in the wrong place!

amcf58, I did clean her with Apple Care Leather cleaner before applying the apple care lotion. I find that though it softened the leather a bit, it also made the leather dull and this didn't go away even with buffing. The effect after lubriderm (even before apple gard) was so much better IMO.

Unhappy HELP !! my juane is parched :/

Ok so I bought a beautiful 07 juane work a little less than a month and a half ago and she is beautiful BUT... I have already moisturized her (with Lubriderm) 3 times. After the moisturizing she looks and feels wonderful but the effects are short lived.

This is my first bal bag and I am not familiar with the leather, I know my bag would fall into the shiny/veiny category but I am deathly afraid that it will crack... It doesn't even feel that dry to the touch but it's very wrinkly and I don't know what to do...

This has prevented me from wearing the bag as much as I'd like to, when I'm not wearing it I keep it on a shelf in my closet, and I live in rainy Vancouver so the climate shouldn't be a problem...

So tell me... am I overreacting ?? how does it look to you guys ?? Any tips/advice would be wildly appreciated

I'm glad you posted this! I think your leather looks wonderful, but I'm not the expert on the Bal forum for leather conditioning. I have a box full of LMB products, but I'm afraid to use them. I haven't treated any of my bags with anything, and some of my leathers look dry and veiny. I have looked at the photos that some of the other girls have posted (the before and afters), but for some reason I have this fear of treating any of my bags. Have you checked out some of the threads for the before and after pics. Again, I think the leather on yours looks wonderful. :)

Also, your juane GSH work looks so great. I have a RH juane work, and I think your leather looks smooshier than mine.

Thank you so much ! Your reply made me feel better, I might just be a little overly paranoid BUT more importantly, I just had a near death experience. That is when I clicked the link to see your collection. Holy god I'm still picking my jaw up off the floor, what a beautiful beautiful closet. I would love to put down a sleeping bag in that room and wake up singing hellloooo beautiful babies !!! And those two GH works, the aquamarine and the anthracite are TO DIE FOR. Amazing collection great taste !!

Maybe because its so shiny ? My concern is really how wrinkly it is... i'm worried that the deep creases from the veins will crack.. am I just crazy ?

^^I haven't heard of any Balenciaga vein cracking. That sounds kind of weird, doesn't it? I have seen where others have written with that concern, but I really don't think the leather cracks.

No wrinkly is good. I like wrinkly. Wrinkly does not mean it is going to crack. My juane and my chocolate both have "wrinkles" but neither is dry in my opinion. Wrinkly gives it character, IMO. I don't personally like when a bag is very smooth. It is very bbagish to have wrinkles. I don't think you need to worry. I think you should use it and enjoy. I love my jaune day with GSH.

I kinda know what you mean, the back of my magenta cp feels like it could "crack" in the veins... sometimes I worry it will split or perforate. Then I realize it's very sturdy leather and I make myself feel better. I your jaune work! So smooshy and rich looking! I wouldn't be worried, use her!!

Yep- you're crazy for sure!

I'm crazy about the leather on your bag!

Now- my mom always told me 'never say never' but I'll have to admit- I've never seen any of the bbags that I've owned crack b/c of distress.....
