Default Im crazy, I'm rubbing off the restoration on my turq 05 work!!

Ok so some ladies may think me totally mad!! I bought a turq 05 work that was sadly unwanted as it had been 'restored' very badly indeed. Well when I got her in my hot little hands it gave me hope!, the paint had started to peel off and the true colour was showing through underneath.
Therefore it got me thinking, why not rub off the awful 're dye paint job?' Ok so this is going to take me forever as the whole bag has to be done but the side panel I have been working on for hours is already much much better. I really hope that I can some what restore her to her original beauty.
Here are some start pics: it took me a while to get the sticky gloopy top coat off first!!

I hope to one day still find a minty one but will give miss turq a loving home for the rest of her days

I have spent some hours working on her. It took me ages to get the very sticky top coat off that smelt so toxic I'm surprised that it actually made it through customs as a bag!! Here are a few pics, Im not sure if you can see the difference yet but it is less shiny and fake looking as I have some of the paint off already, enjoy!

My hands are covered in paint flecks!!!

I also don't think you're crazy!

The last couple of pictures look better to me already. The paint looks really oily. Like a slick coat . Hope it comes off evenly for you! Good luck on your mission!!

Isn't this the same bag that there is a long thread on somewhere on here? If it is, I think LMB did a 400.00 *spa* treatment on it which I assume means dying it? or is that a different bag?
Good luck and I hope you can restore it. Maybe if you knew what was on it, you could find out what product to use to remove it?
