Help!!! I can see the lining popping out...

Hi all...

I'm new to Bal. I just got my first 2 Bal last week, a 08 Magenta Twiggy and a GGH Black Day. I love them to bits, especially the Day as the leather is sooooo soft and the bag looks so chewy!!!

BUT... the problem is... I can see the white lining popping out from the holes they usually put the lace through on the handle of my Day!!! Is this normal? It is quite obvious... maybe becoz of the colour of the bag. But it is rather obvious! Sorry, I don't have a pic right now...

What should I do? Do you think they can trim the lining? Has anyone experience this before?

I love love this bag so much... I hand-picked it becoz I love how thick the leather is... but now the lining..

pics will really help. have you checked the reference library for similar cases? the thread function's still off but i think there aren't very many threads to go through.

Sweetpigtail, white showing thru on the handles, it's normal. Not every bag, but not uncommon and not a defect. If it bothers you enough though, I'd exchange for another one. You should be totally happy with it.

A few of my bags have the white showing in the holes, doesn't really bother me much, especially if everything about the rest of the bag is perfect. I am most picky about having thick chewy distressed leather....... so if that's right, then I'm pretty happy.

Congratulations on your new bags!

p.s. I just checked, my 08 magenta twiggy has the white showing, doesn't bother me, it's a gorgeous bag.

I've just got a call from the boutique about this issue as well. They said that it sometimes occurs, and they can do nothing about it. Hurr... I guess I will have to live with it then. As you said, the quality of the leather is the most important thing. But I just hate that there is these white thingy popping out from a pure black bag.

^You're welcome. I understand your frustration. It's just one of those things that vary from bag to bag.

You know, you say the white is actually popping out of the hole? Could you try pushing it in a bit with a paper clip or something similar? The holes on my bag don't really have the white sticking out, it's more like a cut raw edge if that makes sense.

It is not really actually popping out... but you can just see it. I borrow this picture from a fellow TFPer... it is like the handle on the right, only mine is much worse. The worse hole has about 2-3 mm. of the lining showing.

I wouldn't worry about it. Its a hand made product and as such, you are not going to get precision cutting. Its never going to be perfect but its certainly not a defect. Its not really noticeable x

I know what I would do if it bothered me and exchanging it was out..I'd get out one of my fabric dye pens, or a waterproof Sharpie, and I'd color that protruding white lining a nice black!
