Default Chipped edges? Cracked Sealant, Waxy Edgework flaking off

Hi ladies~ Some of you helped me out in the authenticate this thread regarding this day i just bought on eBay. It is my 2nd and its beautiful but upon close inspection i noticed this on the handles. It is on the underside of the handles so it doesnt really effect the way it looks BUT i want to make sure before i decide not to talk to the seller about options, that this WONT effect the bags lifetime,,,
i adore it and want to keep it so much but i dont want the bag to have a shorter life because of this (its an 07). I checked my 08 and although it doesnt have this problem i do see where it could happen,,
so im wondering if this is just something that happens and its ok i dont have to worry :)
thanks SOOSSO much!!!
~Bessie

this is how it looks when i bend the handle a little you can see more exposed

thanks for your help!!!!!!

My 06 black city has that same issue, the edge piping or whatever on the handles has partially rubbed off, exposing the white stuff underneath... I think yours has cracked a little more than mine though.

As for how it will affect longevity, I'm not really too sure :( If anyone else has stories, please share.

I have an 06 in a diff colour, and that isn't happening....

I don't think on a bag that's 1K, that shoud be considered "normal"

AS I'd very much LOVE to say that this isn't normal.. and IMO it shouldn't be ... it's sorta common to see.

The handle of my Sienna Day is showing that on both ends but it is a small part. I only noticed it not long ago.

thats a bummer! balenciaga should fix that with the prices!

BUT does it effect the life of the bag or is it more cosmetic?

Unfortunately, it's very common . If it really bothers you, then you might want to try using Edge Kote. I haven't tried it yet, but a few people here have used it and I think it works pretty well.

For less than 800, I feel like you shouldn't worry. I've had my part time for a few months now (maybe 5) and after everyday use, it's having the same issues. Has been for a couple of months now, actually. I wish it didn't since it is such a great deal to pay, but oh well!

The happened to my 06 black city and I think its normal. I think Bal purposely makes the sealant around the handles and on the bag weak compared to other brands. Balenciaga is suppose to get beat up, right? Or am I alone on this? I have threads coming out on the bag but it really doesn't affect it. I figured the handles stretch and crack so they put the rope to secure it.
