Chipped edges? Cracked Sealant, Waxy Edgework flaking off

it doesnt bother me much cause its on the underside of the handles I was just worried that it might weaken the handles or something
but if its common for it to happen with wear then it is bound to happen eventually anyway and it was a great price and the rest is great!
thank you guys for putting my mind at ease but really Balenciaga should deal with that ASAP! for that retail price that shouldnt ever happen and if it did it should be repaired for free!!! (haha free, does that even exist anymore!)

You can get your handles replaced by Balenciaga for around $100. I brought my grey first in to get replaced and I'm waiting for it to come back.

i just bring it to BAL NY? and they will replace any handles ?? :) (not worth doing now but could be for the future!)

Yeah, I went in person and I "checked" it in and they gave me a claim ticket. I filled out a form and they told me it can take about a month or a little longer for the new handles to arrive. Also, they told me I could keep the bag until the handles come in but I wanted them to hold on to so they know the exact color to order.

completely normal wear and tear.... that colored gluey stuff never stays together... sadly.

i have my black city since 2005, well if you wear a dark colour bag often, it'll eventually look like that. same happened with my friend's chocolate.

So they can order handles in colors that aren't made anymore? Also, do we have to do this in person or is over-the-phone ok? Thanks!

my ink city which i've used everyday since first buying doesn't really have severe torn edges but there are small little pieces of piping coming up! it's not bad though and it's something that happens to all bbags.

I only have -05 bags and earlier and none of my bags have that problem....although I don´t think it will affect the longevity of the bag at all!!

I have a 2005 twiggy that was beaten to hell by it's previous owner and it's handles are fine. I would like to think a bag that costs $1k would hold up better than that. That is really disappointing. My old Coach bags have held up better.

sadly i'm beginning to think that balenciaga made better quality bags pre-2006. I've seen some bags from 2002 that look better than bags from 2007 with very minimal wear.

Doesn't make sense does it. Maybe they are trying to produce too many and are letting quality slip a little. Just don't know if I want to continue paying so many $$$$ for bags that don't hold up. Hmmmmmmmm.........

Yes, I think they will replace handles from previous seasons, mine was from 06. Not too long ago. It might be hard over the phone since they might not know the exact color until you show it. You could get a SA's email and take a picture. I think some colors have the same name so there could be a mix up, especially with untrained SA's.

I carry heavy stuff in my bags like text books, magazines, water bottles, etc. I accept the wear since I really beat my bags up.
