Default Chewing Gum removal?

Hey there,

Does anyone have any tips for getting chewing gum off my black first? I was at the doctors waiting with my little girl, who naturally enough wasn't happy to just sit around for half and hour because they were running late. Anyway, I put my bag down to walk her up and down the corridor. When I picked it up again there was a great wad of white gum stuck to the bottom! Who leaves chewed gum on the floor of the doctor's waiting room!?! Anyway, Ive got most of it off but I don't want to damage the leather underneath by scratching too hard on the remainder that is left.

Any advice appreciated!
