My pistachio is here...but really bad news!

It arrived damaged!! BADLY! UGH The leather tab that holds the large ring to connect the long strap came off.

WONDERFUL NEWS everyone!!! SARAH...is a DOLL! Look at this lovely e-mail she sent me. (I sent her photos of the damage)

Hi Jennifer,
Yes, send it back to us and we will have it repaired. I'm sorry this
happened to your handbag. Just send it back to my attention and include your address and telephone number in the box. It usually takes a week for repair.
Thank you,
Sarah

UPDATE - Caramel Purse (with rip in it)

irst of all, a big THANK YOU to you PF Balenciaga girls, cause you really know your stuff! Thanks for helping me to identify what kind of seller this was and providing me with additional information within minutes of me posting.

Ok, I came back from the leather repair today in NYC and I am THRILLED. It came out better than I thought. The cut is completely closed, and it actually blends nicely with the distressing. Here are pics (which you know how the flash brings out flaws) When I got the bag I couldnt find the spot until the guy pointed it out to me. Then of course after its pointed out you can find it. Im glad I rescued this bag and it won't be bouncing around and people getting scammed over this. I am not sure if I will sell it or not, it kinda brings me bad memories LOL. But I am pleased with the results. IRL it looks even better. The best part is the TEXTURE IS SO NICE AND SMOOTH. I ran my finger over it and there was no bump or anything.

Roo's lubriderm technique on my cornflower shrug. before/after pics

so i tried roo's lubriderm technique on the back of my new scrug (I found a RIP in my leather, BTW, see my other thread ). The right side of the picture is the treated side, and the left is the untreated. As you can see, the marbleling has lessened significantly, and overall it appears "darker" because the white veins have disappeared. So far so good!

The Great Lubriderm Twiggy Experiment

I recently bought a Cornflower blue Twiggy from Bal NY. I fell in love with that color after I saw Tod's bag. When I received my Twiggy, it was really dry, shiny and veiny looking. I tried applegarde conditioner on it the first day I got it. It helped a bit, but not that much.

Then I read about the lubriderm so I decided to give it a shot. I bought a 6 oz bottle of the Lubriderm Daily Moisture lotion for normal to dry skin, unscented, cheap at Walgreens. I tested a small area on the bottom of the bag to make sure it was not going to stain or harm the dye. I rubbed it in with my fingers and could immediately see a difference. So I went to town! The bag immediately began to soften up and also become more matte looking and richer in color. Also the marbling of the veins became much less visible and the leather seemed to pucker up. I continued to rub the lotion over the bag with my hands like you would if you were massaging it into your skin. The veins/distressing are still visible, but seem less marbled after the lubriderm. It will be interesting to see if this is a temporary change or not.

I took these photos, its a bit hard to tell due to the outside daylight, but if you look closely you'll notice the difference in veins and the way the bag actually hangs. The Lubriderm is sure a lot cheaper than Applegarde and it seems to work better too. (Hopefully tomorrow I won't wake up to find the bag has turned green or something! )

**Also a disclaimer, this method worked for me, but you should try it on your own bag at your own risk. **

RTheatre work experiment worked out!!

I posted last week on getting a RT work but the handles were pretty dark and I bought it anyway with faith in a product that I read from another Pfer that worked on her bordeaux.

Here's the before and after pics. The difference occured in under 5 minutes. I was (and still am) shocked

Very pleased though....

My chocolate City wasn't supposed to have dark handles but when she arrived they were very dark and sticky. So off she went to LMB for handle cleaning! They did a fantastic job and she looks like a new bag only has YUMMY '05 leather. The cost was around $150. with the cleaning and shipping back and forth.

I bought this Turquoise Work second hand and sent it to LMB for a clean up as the corners were very worn, the handles were very dark and there were various dirt/oil spots on it.

The process did take very long- around 8 weeks but Barbara was very noice and Gary did an AMAZING job! The bag looks like new and is just absolutely perfect now. I am extremely happy with the results and already sent my Bubblegum City to them, too, for a clean up! It was quite expensive (around $325 all up) but was absolutely worth it IMHO.

Before...when I attempted to clean only moderately dirty handles myself with Oil of Olay wipes which left the leather dry, splotchy, misshaped and discolored...

And after a trip to LMB for restoration...

Default Before and After
After 6 long weeks, I have finally received my lovely 05 Caramel Twiggy back from Lovin My Bag. I know that this has been a bit of a hot button issue in the forum. I just wanted to show off the great job that was done on my bag. While I didn't get the bag back as soon as I would've liked, I think she looks pretty darn good now, almost like new. So view for yourself.

Naturel GGH Brief with denim transfer on back.

Before: Located on the back left side. A smaller spot on the back right side. A large area surrounding the threads down the center back of the bag.

After: Used baby wipes and let dry. Repeated 3 times. Conditioned and sprayed. Still there, but as you can see it made a significant difference. One so that I feel if I wore it, no one would notice and/or if ever sold, could still get decent money out of.

Three more pics...one without and one with flash of after(not very good lighting, sorry) The last one of a close up of before working on it.
