Yes my Electric Blue RH City has done it a lot. I hate it and have been trying to trim the ends off. First time I have seen this happen but I have been using this bag constantly since Spring. It has carried a lot of weight but generally by the strap not the handles. Not very pleased.

Ah - what an interesting idea - bit nerve wracking though. Isn't there a risk that the stuff they use to seal the edges might melt?

well, that's kind of the idea... it almost seals it back
i just burn it for a second, then press it with my fingers.
It's actually quite funny when i spot a little stray bit on public transport... and just suddenly start burning my bag!

P.s. i accept no responsibility for any burnt bbags!

this happened to two of my bbags, and i sent both back (especially after 3 mos.) to Bal NY and they resealed the edges of the handles and any other area that needed attention. all for NC of course. Good Luck.

I haven't noticed any rough edges...
It just melts a little, and as i said before,i just press-blend it with my fingers.
Also it might be worth mentioning that i have only done this on my black Bbag and dark Prada,so i'm not sure how it'd work on light colored bags.
In any case,if in doubt, better don't do it. It's not a magic cure for fraying edges.
