It's called Goodlook and is made of avocado oil and beeswax. It smells delicious and nicely softens up the leather. Not all the shine has gone (I can buff it up to more shiny too) but the finish looks slightly different. The bag was very dry and cracking and needed some moisturising, so all up I'm pleased because the leather feels so much nicer. But I do like the shine and wonder if I should try LMB's shine restore -- I would have to order it as I have none.

I've just had a look at this thread and on these pictures the product also seems to remove shine. BEFORE & AFTER treatment/ restoration/ repair (pics ONLY)

What would you recommend?

drati, LMB cleaner/moisturiser did the same to my bags.

Took the shine away, definately made them more matte and less veiny.

I had a bad experience with shine restore, so I'm too scared to use it again - apparently they have changed the formula now though, and many PF'ers have had good experiences with shine restore.

What was your bad experience? And are you using the handle protection cream or would you advise to stay away from LMB?

I'm also a fan of the Waproo water and stain repellant.

I have the LMB products but I've only used them on the bottom of my White/Cream Day. They worked well and I'll get round to using them on the whole bag

I can get a good spray here, it's not Waproo but something similar. I just don't know how effectively it will stop the handles from darkening on lighter coloured bags.

Hi Drati,

I just read your post...I can see where your problem is in your description above...It's the avocado oil. That oil is typically fatty (good fat for humans, bad fat for bags!) I am presuming your bag went "dull" or "matte" in appearance, lost all shine and had a bit of residue left over??? That's avocado oil...In the creme's I make, I use essential oils that are so lightweight. I make different consistencies of creme for different years of Bbag...For example, my creme for 04/05 Bbags uses much less essential oil because there was little to no glazing on those leathers. 06 leather was thin, so the creme I made was more volumising / moisturising (sorry can't give any more of that secret away on this forum) and the 07 creme retains the shine and hydrates at the same time. I make my creme's to order. I don't have a stock room piled high of the stuff. I also agree with you and other opinions about LMB shine restore.

KDC, I must say that in the last couple of days my rouille has regained its shine. I have rubbed it a bit (perhaps removing the avocado oil?) and used it quite a bit and it looks nice a shiny again. A different shine from that first glaze kind of look (which this bag never had much of anyway) but nice, much nicer than the matte look. I am happy again! The colour has gone deeper, rusty, nice. So perhaps the product is OK to use after all (or do you recommend not to?). I'm in no hurry to use it on my other bags, but this one needed something, it was so dry. And I can see that it will dry out again and will need more moisturising.

So would you recommend any LMB products or stay away and find something else? What about the handle stuff or the pro-treatment?

I used the shine restore and it formed white clumps up all over my bag. I had to buff it for hours to get it all off. I was really worried as you can imagine.

I sent the Shine Restore back to Lovin My Bags for them to do testing and I got a full refund plus some complimentary products, including the "new formula" of shine restore - but I didnt have the guts to use it again

I have used for handles only as well as the cleaner and moisturiser and did not have any problems.

But, I have decided from here-on not to treat my bags. All I would like to do is use something for stain & water repellent, so I'm glad there is something local I can get that works!

Ok so I used my oroton spray on the violet day, and the waproo on the BG city. The oroton spray seemed to have dulled the shine a little, but not totally, and waproo didn't change the BG city at all (that I could see!). I think I might have been a little heavy handed with the oroton spray.

I think I'll stick to waproo from now on!

drati - i've used LMB's for handles only, but I don't really carry my bags by the handles, so can't say whether it worked or not! I just wanted to protect the handles, just in case, and not try and fix it after the handles warmed.

Oh I like carrying my bags by the handle. Not all the time, but sometimes. It's something that I like very much about the city, that it can be carried all different ways.

I might give the LMB handle stuff a go on my rouille, probably won't need it for the darker colours.

Oops sorry drati, I meant my cities. For my Work and WE, I've used LMB too, but I tend not to use them as much, so can't really tell if it worked on them too.

I never used Orton's, but I remember that is was developed by a fellow PFer/Bbag lover and heard wonderful things about it.
