I've seen just about all the higher-end designers that I'm interested in covered by the Designer Forum except Versace. Because some of the Versace bags are absolutely TDF and I suppose widely faked, I wonder how one goes about starting up an authentication thread. We would need an in-house expert of course. Anyone able to volunteer? Anyone know how to start it?

There's not nearly enough posts about Versace to warrant it's own Forum, but I'll move this to our Authenticate This! Forum for you and anyone is welocme to ask about authenticating Versace in this thread

^I'm NOT an expert on Versace, I only have one of their bags but I'm not sure about this one. It looks off to me, leather looks wrong, there's a tag on it...not sure why, and if it's brand new it should cost more. I vaguely remember seeing this replicated somewhere..I'll search for the fake stock pics. Is there a way you could get it authenticated by mypoupette or something like that?

The bag is described as. " this an authentic Versace handbag that was purchased in Europe as a gift. The inside lining has "Versace Signatuer" stitched into the fabric and there is a black suede patch that says "Versace Italy". ?
Bag measurements - approximately 11.5" x 6.5" x 4.5".

This bag is definetly fake!!! The Tag hanging from the bag is a dead giveaway!!! I have never seen a versace bag with a tag hanging on it...its usually placed in the box, and the tags are never white (unless they are fake!). The dimensions of this bag are wrong as well...plus this handbag sold out before it even hit the sales floor...this is a limited piece and plus it retails for $4000!!!

Looks good to me. I haven't seen these bags in their boutiques before but they look pretty authentic to me. You might like to wait for someone else to agree/disagree though. I have tonnes of Versace (only a couple of bags though) and the tags/labels looks exactly the same.
