I guess it was only a matter of time that fake Tom Ford bags would show up on the counterfeit market, considering the boost Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Joilie have given the brand. I had hoped it wouldn't be too hard finding a gently used, second hand Tom Ford bag since they're not so widely available and/or popular, but I was wrong. A website that actually brags about selling "Grade A Replicas" was recently brought to my attention and sadly, there among the Chanel and Louis Vuitton bags were three different Tom Ford bags, one of them being the one I am looking for (Jennifer Aniston's double zip flap hobo).

I have found one on eBay that the seller says is authentic and was purchased by her husband last year as a gift. She doesn't have the receipt, but says she can produce a copy of her cc statement, itemizing the purchase (waiting for her to send me a copy) While I do have my doubts, the seller could be on the up and up. Does anyone here know anything about these bags - maybe own one? - that could hep me authenticate an auction listing? There aren't a lot of pics included, so if someone could tell me what to look for, I could ask the seller for those specific pics.

TIA

Pics are really bad -- here's the current listing:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/300647814043...84.m1438.l2649

here's the one she ended early (she wanted to take new pics and add a pic of her statement):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tom-Ford-Fla...item45ffe838a6

Whats troubling me is that I've found a few sites selling fake versions of this bag -- one of them claims that their bag is a mirror image replica and that they used an authentic TF bag to copy so that the specs are perfect (they admit it right out even encourage customers to call Tom Ford to verify the strap length!). This seller appears genuine, her FB is good and she appears to buy and sell designer items quite frequently, but my fear is that she bought a real TF bag for herself & is selling a fake (I could be paranoid, but I've gotten burned too many times in the past to not even consider it!)

Another oddity -- the amount she paid doesn't add up. According to TF, the bag is $3990. If she paid 8.75% sales tax (Beverly Hills sales tax), that's $4339.13 but her statement says she paid $4398 even. Of course, there could be shipping, but then she wouldn't have paid Beverly Hills sales tax and that would mean she paid $108 for shipping which seems outrageous.

I would be careful of this one. I almost purchased one on ebay and it was a very good fake. I did finally find one at the TF in Las Vegas. Odd her listing says she has it on her statement, then she says she does not have original receipt becaause it was a gift.

Hello...I'm new to the forum after a friends suggestion. My sister gave me one of her bags and I would like to sell it on ebay. It is the Tom Ford flap bag, or Jennifer Aniston bag. She got a new black one, so I was handed down the brown one; but purses aren't really my thing. She no longer has the receipt and it was suggested that I have the bag authenticated via this forum, with that link listed in the ebay posting for verification. Is that accurate? What information do you need from me, how many pics, etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello and welcome!

All authentication threads here are only as a help for shoppers, not for sellers. You could attach pics here for authentication of your bag as a gift, but not linking to your own auction.

Hope it helps.

I just purchased a Tom Ford on ebay and i have an uneasy feeling in my belly about it (maybe because she said no returns and I feel like if you are selling the real deal, you stand behind it 100%). I purchased the small version from Neiman Marcus a month ago and when comparing the two, they seem similar, just not sure now that I have seen some really amazing fakes online. Can someone help me authenticate this? I just don't want to be out $2225. I can dispute via Paypal even if she offers no returns, but want back up to show I have done my due diligence. I have added the listing and the photos for your review.

Many thanks,
Malena
