Should I even bother to ask for close-ups? and if I should what are the elements I need to request?

If I am not mistaken, Hermes is going to re-launch the Herbag. Would you want to get one brand new?

I noted the seller's reply to you ... I regard the choice of words to be poor, and it's a brush-off, IMHO. A keen seller in my eyes, would not deny any request for more pictures. I won't comment on authenticity because I've never owned a Herbag before.

The photos are inadequate for me, but regardless, I would not take a chance on an unknown seller with a single feedback.

Although I always understand that sellers have to start somewhere and that everyone at some point will have a feedback of 1, I completely agree with Pepper. An image might be perfect--but without a more substantial selling history you would be taking a risk.

Are the pictures actually of a bag in the sellers possession? Sometimes sellers show images acquired elsewhere, and the bag you get does not even resemble anything authentic. Because of this even a good picture, when it is paired with what I consider insubstantial feedback, does not give me confidence. You need to see a history of customer satisfaction and customer care. Does the seller have a solid and substantial history, and can you see that they have made things better and resolved problems faithfully if things go wrong?

In this case too the price for a Birkin ($4,000) falls a little into the could-be-too-good-to-be-true zone.

I am not saying the bag is bad--I will leave that to others. Going with an unknown seller is beyond my risk threshold.

Comments: I thought the leather was supposed to be vache naturelle not berenia. I asked for extra photos and the seller mentioned she has worked at H for 10 years. IMO the extra photos are not enough to authenticate, but I would appreciate any advice!
i can't comment on the authenticity of this particular bag as the photos are insufficient AND i'm not familiar enough with the model - but fwiw the herbags i've seen at hermes sales were in fact barenia and not VN.

Three of the four photos in this listing belong to ebay seller 88caviar. I have emailed 88caviar to let her know her photos are being used by another seller. Here is 88caviar's listing to compare.

Very good eye. This is just the kind of new-seller-1-feedback problem I was trying to describe in my earlier post. I have made a report to eBay.

How on earth did they remove the watermark. No, I don't want to know! (And maybe we should not give instructions on how to do that here...)
