b, you can't tell anything from that photo - and it looks like the 45cm pochette rather than the full size scarf (which makes sense with the price point).

Just off the top of my head, from reading in other threads-
Faked often, and sometimes very well-
Tohu Bohu (used to be that the fakes would say "soie" in the corner but apparently some have the correct words in the corner)
Bal des Bulles
Promenade de Longchamps
Tourbillon
I know there are others but I can't think of them at the moment.....

OTOH I have been told that Brides de Gala has not been extensively faked, oddly enough.

ETA This is all information that I got from convos with members here in open threads, not PMs. However if someone feels that this info would be too handy for fakers/scammers, I understand completely so Mods, handle as you feel is appropriate.

Thanks Elle Tee! 2 scarves on my radar are TB and PdL:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=250360753153

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tab%3DWatching

Also, was there a concensus about whether we post here or the other auth/scarf thread? Thanks!!

Unfortunately I don't own either of those scarves so I wouldn't feel comfortable authenticating, hopefully someone who does can chime in.

b, i'm never comfortable with the tohu bohu design because there are some pretty good fakes out there - but these pix aren't good enough to say anything certain. with frequently faked designs we really need a close up of the fabric and of the hem.

the longchamps could be the real thing, and based on the tag it would be a very vintage piece - but i'm not sure that the copyright (really, the lack thereof) matches the tag for era. i'd check with seton on this one, since i can't remember whether the first issuance of this design would have had no copyright or should have the (c) next to hermes paris.

livia, the photo isn't good enough to say anything - but i've purchased authentic from this seller and would expect this to be authentic as well.

I knew I was forgetting loads of them! JBurgh posted this on another thread, thought I would add it here for reference.

Thank you DQ and LT. That's why I listed them, as LT called them out specifically as fauxed....I remember Seton advising me on a burgundy longchamp earlier this month, but I lost it...I know her computer crashed, that may be why she's missing....

Jburgh - I have a Hola Flamenca on my list too

I wasn't kidding about the page of scarves for auth. if anyone is interested in extra credit....

Brennamom, the last list of faked scarves that I saw was maybe 100 titles long. And under each title, there were listed several colorways. I've seen some of the fake scarf selling sites, and they're pretty scary. There's lots of faked styles.

Like DQ, I won't touch Tohu Bohu unless I know the seller well.

A slightly unusual request, but one I think belongs in this thread: Would anyone who has the "Nuba Mountain" 90 cm silk in the white/ivory bordered version please PM me? I have a very specific question about this colorway and would prefer not to give this level of detail in the open forum (though I will if no one thinks there would be any harm). I just received this scarf via eBay and am struck by one detail. . . . Thank you!
