Authenticate This HERMES BAG *Please read the rules & use the format in Post #1*

hi there!!! i have some question to be solved regarding hermes birkin bag.i thought of buying a beautiful secondhand birkin bag which are gently used and 99% in good condition with invoice and certificate from hermes.i found it in a secondhand handbags boutique somewhere in my country.i have seen the detail of the bag from stitching,the palladium plate and the leather.its all perfect,here's the things one of my friend said that a real birkin bag have the signature of the maker inside the bag itself,is it true?because i couldnt find it at all or is it just some sort of mistake.i believe that ur fabulousity makes u own a real birkin bag and i really need u to help me,i hope that if there is the signature of the maker inside it,if its there can u show me by sending any picture of it.i wanted to buy it for my mom but im afraid that the bag could be some sort of fake or replica..plz help me.btw i already asked the S.A at hermes,believe it or not they dont know that much bout birkin because the bag rarely delivered to my contry even though there's a long waiting list.

This is called the blindstamp.

It is not a mark of authenticity per se, but a corporate code that Hermes uses for internal needs.
Beware that fake bags also have this blindstamp as it is the easiest thing to copy

If you really are interested in buying that bag,you should find a way to take the pictures required (see post 1 of this thread) for authentication, and post them here along with provenance of the bag.

Authentic bag. The hardware is pretty scratched and I would say the bag was pretty floopy and soft. You better think about that if this is your first bag. Look at the reference section at the Kellys and you will see how some hold their shape better than others. This is not a criticism, just a heads up to you so you won't be disappointed. I also think the price is a tad high and if you are in the US, you could get stuck with some duties.

so I thought the $4800 was a good deal! Can you tell me if the higher priced one is a better deal? Is the clemence just a soggy leather?

Granted it appears to be in much much better shape, but the price is way too high. I can see how you thought the other was a good buy after seeing this price. Wait a bit and we will find you a good bag at a better price

Clemence does get softer over time and some bags are just softer than others. Different cows=different leather. I think you might like a togo better. Still has the grained look and holds the shape. The larger the bag and the more you load up the bag with things, the faster it will soften up. 32 is a very good size and really holds a lot. You need to think about what and how you are going to use it. 35 Kelly is another option if you want something that holds more.
